Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge (X360)

In Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge, players master a variety of authentic hunting skills, including bullet trajectory, weapon aim and expert tracking techniques on their quest to become the 'Total Outdoorsman'.

"Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge is a hunting sim created to meet the outstanding expectations of the respected brand behind it," said Adam Kline, president of 505 Games U.S. "With this new title, hunting game fans and loyal readers of Field & Stream can now hone their skills in a year-round hunting season that offers more realistic gameplay and more big game than ever before."

Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge drives players to sharpen their sixth sense and test their mettle against the great outdoors to ultimately earn the coveted title of 'Total Outdoorsman'. Through a true-to-life, first-person perspective, players will track over 30 big and small game species on land and in the air across authentic environments featuring realistic wildlife activity and varying weather conditions. To become the ultimate tracker, gamers must listen for animal calls, search the ground for tracks, and use 'Scent Vision' to spot and hunt their prey. Players can close in on targets using special scents and decoys, as well as permanent hideouts and vantage points as their hunting skills become more advanced.

"Now whether you're in the woods or in the comfort of your own home, you will be able to test your skills to see if you have what it takes to be a Total Outdoorsman," said Eric Zinczenko, group publisher of Field & Stream. "Our staff worked hard to ensure the game portrays realistic hunting scenarios and players are really going to see the impact of their input in Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge."

Virtual hunters and marksmen will test their worth in the outdoors in both serious and casual modes. Beginning with Practice Mode, players must work to perfect their aim with skeet shooting, a first step for any great hunter. Free Hunt Mode allows gamers to hunt any animal without restrictions, regulations or licenses. Ultimate Hunt Mode lets players truly experience the thrill of the hunt with challenging gameplay requiring players to use traditional tracking and stalking techniques to hunt prize catches and brave the wilderness.

Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge, rated T for Teen, is available for $19.99.

RISK: Factions (XBLA)

Featuring a blend of traditional and new gameplay modes, RISK: Factions takes global conquests to a new level with five-player online multiplayer functionality, setting the stage for the ultimate strategy showdown. RISK: Factions also presents a distinctive art style and offbeat humor such as cat and zombie factions that adds a unique and compelling layer of fun for both the new and veteran RISK fan.

“RISK: Factions has been designed to offer something for every level of strategy player,” said Chip Lange, General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Hasbro Division at Electronic Arts. “We’ve taken a pop culture favorite and injected doses of innovation and creativity across all aspects of the game to deliver a RISK experience that can only be achieved on a digital gaming platform such as XBLA. From original Classic mode to new Factions mode, and online multiplayer to an assortment of rule-set options, game-changing strategic weapons, quirky factions and eye-grabbing graphics, the quest for world domination just got more extreme and fun.”

RISK: Factions pits five fanatical factions against one another in an epic battle for global supremacy. Deployed as cats, robots, zombies, yetis or humans, RISK strategists can start by playing through single-player campaign mode to familiarize themselves with the factions and Hasbro’s 2008 RISK rule-set, upon which the video game is based. Alternatively, players can jump directly into the action in one of the game’s three multiplayer modes including: Command Room mode, featuring the fast moving objective-based 2008 rule-set; Classic mode, offering traditional play where players conquer the world by eliminating all other opponents; and World Conquest mode, a mix of Command Room and Classic modes.

The XBLA game also features online multiplayer capabilities for up to five players and local multiplayer options for up to four players. New maps, unlockable avatar items, bonus “overkill” moments, and strategic weapons also round out RISK: Factions’ inventive twists and turns, all created to test players’ strategic metal and execution.

“The RISK game brand has always been about strategizing to rule the world, and now EA is offering players a chance to do so in a re-imagined digital environment,” said Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media and Gaming at Hasbro.

RISK: Factions, developed by UK-based Stainless Games with cinematics produced by Power House Animation, is available now on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 Microsoft points.
