'Guardians of Graxia' Pre-Order Incentive

by Rainier on June 8, 2010 @ 2:36 a.m. PDT

Guardians of Graxia is a single/multiplayer strategy/board game that features dynamic strategic gameplay using cards, figurines, and map tiles in a fantasy-based environment, combining the best of both online and board game aspects in a highly replayable fantasy setting, and will contain more than 240 unique unit and spell cards at release.

Graxia is a planet filled with mystical energies allowing for entire continents to drift high in the sky. These floating landmasses are filled with the cities and dens of many magical races. Guardians create enchanted portals which are the only means to cross from one drifting continent to another. The portals are used by Guardians to transport armies to conquer the land found on the other side of the portal.

Pre-order now through the Petroglyph online store and receive a discount on Panzer General: Allied Assault.

"With the success of Panzer General: Allied Assault board game, we look forward to releasing another top-quality, independently developed and distributed game,” said Chuck Kroegel, General Manager of Petroglyph. “Heroes of Graxia features a unique player vs. player combat component that most current deck building games lack."

The game accommodates two-to-six players and will contain more than 240 unique cards, as well as plastic miniatures. Starting with a small deck of 12 cards, players build their empire by acquiring the best cards to prepare them to out-smart and out-maneuver other players to obtain trophies and prestige. Powerful weapons, armor, spells, armies, henchmen, and mercenary cards are available.

“Heroes of Graxia is easy to learn and quick to setup," said Daniel Kroegel, Game Designer for Heroes of Graxia. "We are excited to announce immediate pre-order availability for all our Graxia board and card games to anyone who shares our passion for unique, strategic fantasy games.”

Westland is the largest of these floating islands and is filled with green valleys and rolling hills. Giants and dragons share this land with humans and goblin settlements. In the blink of an eye, the peace of the countryside is destroyed as a portal opens and the Orc Warlord Oshnuk steps through the portal with his army behind. At the same time, the Warlord of Westland opens his own portal near the first one and sends his army into battle.

The fantasy world of Graxia is filled with mysteries designed for players to discover and solve. Why are there huge continents floating in the sky? Why is there such a wide variety of races living on each of these continents when travel between these lands is only accomplished through the use of Guardian created magical portals? How does the mind magic of the Graxian crystals expand and strengthen the abilities of the many races of the planet? Only selecting your favorite Guardian, exploring the world, and commanding your armies in battle, provides the answers to some of the Graxian mysteries.

Fantasy worlds all typically have common denominators; wizards are arm in arm with dragons; knights charge down on orcs and trolls; and city-states battle each other for control of more land. The world of Graxia has all of that and a great deal more. Guardians present the greatest difference. A Guardian’s abilities are unique to this intellectual property. All of the races of the world have special innate abilities that grow stronger with the use of the magical crystals. Graxian battles take place high in the sky on the floating continents changing the rules of combat and how civilizations expand.

Guardians of Graxia the board game version will be available in top game and hobby stores later this year, as well as for the PC via direct download.
