When the doors to Gamescom open in Cologne next week, Bigpoint's stand in Hall 9.1 will be impossible to miss. High-energy stage shows and three premieres in four days will combine to create an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Poisonville – The World Premier of the Action-Packed, 3D-Browser Game
The time has finally come: The opening day of the trade show will see the release of the 3D action game Poisonville. At a cost of almost $2 million, Poisonville was developed in-house at Bigpoint by more than 30 team members over two years. The action MMORPG lets players move freely through the giant city of Poisonville, whose districts have been divided up by four gangs. After getting out of jail, you find that everyone is in pursuit of power and it's time to once again make a name for yourself in your old gang.
Inspired by the game’s aesthetic, Bigpoint’s stand is also guaranteed to impress attendees. In addition to several entertaining stage shows, the stand will feature beautiful dancing girls around the clock. And as an absolute conference highlight, Bigpoint will introduce Bernadette Kaspar, both the September Playmate and Miss Poisonville, who will play a very special role in the game.
Battlestar Galactica Online – The First Technical Demo of the Space Adventure in Europe
At the conference, fans of Syfy's fantastically successful television series, Battlestar Galactica, will also get their money's worth. For the first time in Europe, Bigpoint will give select journalists a glimpse of Battlestar Galactica Online under development. The online space game developed with Unity 3D offers cutting-edge graphics and immersive gameplay. Once launched, it will be playable directly from any web browser.
Platform-Independent Gaming – The European Premier of ToonRacer
During the massive show, Bigpoint will also give members of the press an advance look at Bigpoint’s upcoming ToonRacer title. The racing game, which is due to be released this fall, features small monsters fiercely battling for the fastest time on their homemade speedsters. This browser game makes cross-platform gaming possible. Players using PCs, iPads, and iPhones can play against each other in real time – an absolute first in the online gaming market.
"The future of online gaming will be platform independent. Players nowadays can no longer be told when and where they should play,” said Heiko Hubertz, CEO of Bigpoint. “It's our vision to offer every player complete gaming satisfaction anywhere and at any time, and with our latest creation, we've come one step closer to that goal."
