'Pinball FX 2' (XBLA) Reveals Price, Secrets of the Deep Table - Screens

by Rainier on Sept. 29, 2010 @ 1:28 a.m. PDT

Pinball FX 2 takes the pinball genre to another level with the most advanced ball physics and social features to date, along with a new collection of beautifully designed tables.

When Pinball FX 2 releases, existing Pinball FX owners will simply need to import their original Pinball FX content into the new Pinball FX 2 dashboard system. Pinball FX owners will be stoked to discover that each of these tables have received graphical updates and a new list of Achievements to unlock. In addition to every classic Pinball FX table, Pinball FX 2 will feature four all-new tables available for purchase. Every new table built for Pinball FX 2 will include new Achievements, operator mode and stats tracking.

Now, for the information you have all been waiting for…how much is Pinball FX 2 going to cost? It’s actually a bit of a complicated question, so we’re breaking it down piece by piece. The first thing to understand is that Pinball FX 2 is a FREE platform download for any Xbox Live Arcade user, providing access to the entire library of Pinball FX 2 content. Within the platform, you can demo every table before making a purchase.

The second thing to understand is that current Pinball FX owners are being well taken care of. When you download the Pinball FX 2 platform, you will simply import your existing content, this is FREE. That’s no strings attached backwards compatibility! The original tables will not only receive graphics and physics updates, they will also receive NEW Achievements!

If you have never purchased Pinball FX content, you will be able to buy the Classic Collection (Speed Machine, Extreme Agents, and Buccaneer) within Pinball FX 2 for 800 MS points. The original DLC tables (Nightmare Mansion, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Street Fighter II Tribute Table, and Earth Defense) will each be available for 240 MS points.

Pasha, Rome, BioLab & Secrets of the Deep represent the Pinball FX 2 Core Collection, and will be available for 800 MS points.

Pinball FX 2 sports 39 achievements for a total GamerScore of 650. The key thing to understand is that Pinball FX 2 is a platform which will be updated for a long time to come with new content. Being a platform provides access to more Achievements and a higher GamerScore.

A few more notes about Achievements in Pinball FX 2:

  • Pinball FX tables will get a new set of Achievements, which gives you another reason to play them!
  • There are sets of achievements requiring you to beat the high scores of your friends. Now take into consideration how the Wizard Score works (the combination of your friends Superscores) and you realize that you will have to beat those friends you have joined up with for a high Wizard Score!
  • As new tables are added, more Achievements and GamerScore will be available.
