'Backbreaker: Vengeance' (XBLA) Announced - Trailer

by Rainier on April 14, 2011 @ 6:43 p.m. PDT

Backbreaker Vengeance takes the intensity and AAA appeal of the original Backbreaker Football and combines it with the pick-up-and-play nature of the iPhone games to create a whole new one-of-a-kind sports experience for digital download.

It takes as its inspiration the wildly popular “Tackle Alley” mini-game in Backbreaker Football to deliver an all-new arcade slant on football.

Backbreaker Vengeance marks the first time the series has been available as a digital download via Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360, featuring non-stop, hard-hitting arcade action; bone-crunching tackles; and tons of swagger from end-zone to end-zone. Unprecedented, hard hitting tackles (with no pre-canned animations) and jaw-dropping graphics complement the distinct pick-up-and-playability that proved so infectious with Backbreaker Football’s “Tackle Alley” mini-game.

“Backbreaker has caught the imagination of the world with its fresh approach to the sports genre. Backbreaker Vengeance for Xbox LIVE Arcade focuses on the aspects of American Football our fans love: incredible euphoria animations, gut-busting collisions, deceptive juke maneuvers and a pick-up-and-play feel,” said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. “This brutal spiritual successor to the beloved Tackle Alley will show gamers across the world that when it comes to delivering no-frills football action, Backbreaker Vengeance is where it’s at.”

Whether you takedown or touchdown…it’s Vengeance!
