'Final Fantasy XI' Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition Announced

by Rainier on April 28, 2011 @ 12:34 a.m. PDT

In Final Fantasy XI you embark on numerous adventures through vast environments in Vana'diel: a persistent world with over a hundred areas to explore, ranging from mountains, forests, to oceans, castles, and dungeons.

Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition will include all four expansion packs for Final Fantasy XI, from the premiere expansion, Rise of the Zilart, to the recently concluded Wings of the Goddess®. It will also contain all add-on scenarios to date; namely, A Crystalline Prophecy: Ode of Life Bestowing, A Moogle Kupo d’Etat: Evil in Small Doses, and A Shantotto Ascension: The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born. Also included are the add-on battle areas introduced in 2010: Vision of Abyssea®, Scars of Abyssea® and Heroes of Abyssea®.

As an added benefit for new players and as well as those returning to Vana’diel®, all purchases of Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition will include the Destrier Beret, an in-game item loaded with bonuses to help new players get started, while also giving their characters an enviable article of clothing.

Commemorating Vana’diel’s impressive nine years of adventuring and offering the complete Final Fantasy XI experience to an even broader audience, this new entry to the Final Fantasy XI library will be available for download for Windows-based PCs for $19.99, beginning May 16, 2011 through select digital distributors.

Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition will launch globally (North America, Japan, Europe) on May 16, 2011, and will be available for download exclusively for Windows-based PCs from select digital distributors.
