'Legends Of Pegasus' Developer Shuts Down

by Rainier on Oct. 8, 2012 @ 9:02 a.m. PDT

Legends of Pegasus is a 4X space simulation that will put players in control of the last surviving humans, as they explore space in a quest to expand their galactic empire.

Legends of Pegasus takes you to an epic journey into space and mixes real-time and turn-based strategy. Players will expand their civilization in the galaxy by colonizing new planets, building factories, laboratories and shipyards, researching new technologies and designing new spacecrafts to keep on exploring new galaxies. Battles are played real-time and decided not only by your tactical skills, but also by your strategic decisions and the design and equipment of your ships.

Developer Novacore issued the folloiwng statement:

We very much regret to inform that the Novacore Studios UG has to quit the operation and further development work because of insolvency. We thank all of our employees and partners for their cooperation during the last two years.

Publisher Kalypso issued the following statement:

Developer Novacore had to fine for bancruptcy this week. We assume there will be no further development of patches for Legends of Pegasus but cannot make any statements on the state of the bancruptcy.

It is also legally not possible for us to just hand out the source code of the game for further community development as the code also includes software that is not open source.

This situation is very unsatisfactory, for us but of course especially for you. But it is all we can say for now.
