The first-person dungeon exploration game, created with a passion and strongly inspired by Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Lands of Lore and Ultima Underworld, is Almost Human's first title and it packs together over 30 years of combined game development experience of the four man team.
A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exiling them to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to their captivators, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations long perished now. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level. The game brings back the old-school challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords could be.
Pre-orders are now available directly on Almost Human's website and GOG.com. Those who pre-order get instant access to the game's goodies including a beautifully crafted game manual, Legend of Grimrock world map, custom made grid paper to print out for all your mapping needs, Grimrock theme music, wallpapers, team photo and art sheets illustrating foul creatures of Mount Grimrock. "Many of our followers who have supported us during the intense crunch months have indicated that they want to buy directly from us, so as a thankyou we now have a special pre-order sale on our website for only $11.99 - 20% off from the retail price of $14.99" says Petri Häkkinen, Almost Human.
"We are really excited to bring the game on Steam on 11th April and share with the new generation of gamers the thrilling sensation of exploring a vast hand-crafted dungeon, a privilege we had in our childhoods" continues Häkkinen, the man in charge of coding.
