The '80s will be remembered for many things – big hair, fluorescent socks and Cabbage Patch Kids, to name three – but perhaps its most famous export is the music.

Fans of the decade which gave us power ballads, soft rock and some of the most memorable songs ever written are in for a treat.

We Sing 80s will feature 30 nostalgic favourites, covering the unforgettable decade’s cult hits and dazzling disco tracks, all of which include the original videos. Each song has its own difficulty rating and can be played in short or full length song modes.

The first songs to be revealed are:

  • Kylie Minogue – I Should Be So Lucky
  • Spandau Ballet – True
  • Musical youth – Pass the Dutchie
  • Yazz and the Plastic Population - The Only Way Is Up
  • DeBarge – Rhythm of the Night
  • Smokey Robinson – Being With You
  • Roxette –The Look

The undisputed queen of 80s Pop, Kylie Minogue released I Should Be So lucky all the way back in 1987. Still regarded as one her most memorable tracks, the sugary sweet pop song was a top 10 hit  in charts across the globe from Australia to the UK and everywhere in between.

Spandau Ballet were one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and their song titled True from their 1983 album of the same name was a huge worldwide hit. True remained UK number for one for four weeks in 1983, making it the sixth biggest selling single of the year.

The Only Way Is Up sung by Yazz & the Plastic Population became a chart-topping single in 1988. The song’s popularity continues today, featuring as the official theme tune for the award winning ITV2 series; The Only Way Is Essex.

Musical Youth, a British reggae band, are best remembered for their song released in 1983, Pass the Dutchie.  Having been a number one hit across the globe, Pass the Dutchie sold over 5 million copies and sat at the top of the charts for three weeks in the UK.

DeBarge’s Rhythm of the Night was a 1985 hit from the American R&B based band. It was DeBarge's biggest success yet, hitting number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Rhythm of the Night also coincided with the release of the Motown film, The Last Dragon.

Being With You is a 1981 hit from American singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson. The song spent five weeks at number one on the Hot Soul Singles chart in the US and also reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s appeal also stretched across the Atlantic and was a number one hit for two weeks in the UK during the summer of 1981.

The Look was released as a single in 1989 by Roxette and their ’breakthrough’ song reached the top of the charts in over 26 countries. The Look reached number one in the US and number seven in the UK.

“The 80s produced some of the most memorable songs of any decade and we’re very proud to include such outstanding hits here” says Nik Blower, Sales and Marketing Director, Nordic Games. “These songs are just a hint of the quality of tracks that we’ve included in We Sing 80s. With such an incredible tracklist, even those born after the 80s will still be familiar with the songs - bringing the 80s back to life for everyone.”
