Gamers can pit the NBA's current superstars against classic players in both the Foot Locker Three Point Shootout and Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Rosters for both the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge and 2013 NBA All-Star Game features the 2012 All-Stars, with dynamic updates to the 2013 rosters once the participants are announced.The demo allows players to relive last season’s NBA Finals and play one five-minute quarter as the Oklahoma City Thunder or Miami Heat.
Fans that download the demo can play an online quick match, and those who download the Xbox 360 version can also test some of the game’s Kinect functionality, such as voice recognition allowing players to seamlessly call out plays and strategies on the fly, as well as make substitutions (substitution functionality not enabled in the demo), without bringing up menus.
The NBA 2K13 demo also gives players their first opportunity to get accustomed to the all-new Control Stick. For the first time ever, all dribble moves have been mapped to the right analog stick, which players can use to string together crossover moves and shots for maximum control on the court.
