Built for the Xbox 360, World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition brings team-based tactical action and free-to-play accessibility to Xbox Live gamers.
The title will be digitally downloadable and free-to-play for Gold and Silver Xbox Live gamers. (Silver members can play the game for free for seven days.) It'll feature revamped controls, matchmaking, a new user interface and features that take advantage of the Xbox 360's features. The game will also feature in-game purchases for consumables, premium tanks, and premium accounts.
The one-time event, scheduled for December 13–15, will run globally and mark the last testing phase prior to the title’s release.
The beta will be available to all gamers with Xbox Live accounts, while those without it will be able to get in on the action for a 7-day trial period. As an added bonus to non-Gold account holders who may have already expended their 7-day trial period, the trial will reset, giving gamers an additional 7 days of playing time.
Further rewards will also be available to new and returning players for a limited time during the beta. All players who log in and play at least 10 matches on Saturday, December 14th from 3–6 p. m. (Pacific Standard Time) will receive 7 days of free Premium Account status (which provides a higher accrual rate of credits and experience earned during play) once the game officially goes live. More details regarding redemption of the Premium Account status will be provided at a later date. Players will also be able to take advantage of the “Invite a Friend” functionality via the game’s Platoons feature.
Lastly, the game will be further updated with the brand-new United Kingdom tank line, adding to the game some of the most iconic vehicles from that nation including the Churchill, the Black Prince and the Matilda.
