by Rainier on May 29, 2014 @ 1:24 p.m. PDT

Project Spark is an open-world digital canvas that enables anyone to build, play, and share whatever they can imagine and create in the game.

Project Spark is a  powerful, yet simple way to build and play your own worlds, stories, and games. Share all of your creations to a dynamic community, and play what the community makes. Project Spark brings creation to life and presents endless opportunities for play.

Eager fans can join a dynamic development community of designers to create, explore and play within their own world, or jump into other community-creations to modify and collaborate on a game for endless possibilities. With cross-platform capabilities and through the power of Cloud Saving, “Project Spark” creators can build on a Windows 8.1 device, and then pick-up a controller to continue playing on Xbox One or vice versa.

The Beta Program enables creators to use Project Spark's developer-grade toolset on both Windows 8.1 and Xbox One platforms, available until the product launches later this year. Explore the infinite possibilities of Project Spark and help Team Dakota discover opportunities to bring the digital canvas experience to the next level of world-creation games.

Microsoft wants to show its appreciation to more than 1 million early adopters who have embraced Project Spark and created some of amazing and unexpected experiences that have been shared around the world.

As part of this celebration the developers also need your help. As Microsoft drives towards an exciting week at E3, packed with some awesome updates and surprise announcements, they want to stress test their systems to ensure they are ready to support the next wave of Project Spark fans.
