The Kalypso Media Group has opened a dedicated mobile entertainment office in Hamburg, Germany, which will focus on creating mobile entertainment for iOS and Android platforms on tablets and/or smartphones.

Marcus Behrens, who previously worked in a senior position for German developer Bigpoint Games, has been brought on board as publishing director of Kalypso Media Mobile GmbH and will bring his managerial experience to establish and construct the new division.

"I am very pleased to welcome Marcus Behrens to the Kalypso Media Group, who will build up and conduct the publishing business of Kalypso Media Mobile,” said Simon Hellwig, Global Managing Director of Kalypso Media Group. "With Marcus, we have the right manager to explore the potential of our high-quality games brands for mobile platforms."

"It’s not every day we get the chance to build a brand new division. So I'm really looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to the business and successfully implementing it into the company," said Marcus Behrens, Publishing Director of Kalypso Media Mobile. "In addition to the already successful established Kalypso brands, we want to support new IPs and developers in their projects as a publisher. At Kalypso Media Mobile in Hamburg we have a great opportunity."

Marcus Behrens joins Kalypso from a successful career within the games industry. The last position he held was as a member of Bigpoint HQ’s senior management team, reporting directly to the CEO. In this position he was responsible for the development of the newly established 3rd Party Publishing department at Bigpoint. Prior to this he held senior positions at Eidos in Hamburg and London, along with other previous roles.
