Firefly Online will contain a central story alongside various branching stories, and players will be able to create jobs for each other to complete.

In Firefly Online, players assume the role of a ship captain as they hire a crew and seek out adventures, all the while trading with and competing against the millions of other players to try to survive in the Verse: find a crew, find a job, keep flying. Players will be able to customize their ships while playing, and view "in-universe guides" around planets which provide information on them, both space and planetary environments will exist with over 200 worlds to visit.

So far Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, Ron Glass and Sean Maher have all recorded their parts, with the rest scheduled to record in the near future. We’ve also had Michael Fairman in the studio to reprise his role as crime boss Niska. And Michael Dorn has joined the cast to play the role of an important Alliance officer

The only missing cast member seems to be Gina Torres who played Zoe, while Wil Wheaton will be providing the male voice for the player's avatar (thanks Blues).

Firefly Online provides a variety of gameplay activities and systems so that players can fully experience life in the Verse.
