As the game progresses, players will learn of the sinister truth behind a leader guiding the system and its inhabitants.

The distinctive feature of this single player game is a groundbreaking transformative level mechanic which adds exciting new elements to the established platformer genre.  Exception will feature more than one hundred levels in addition to an array of retro-themed bonus stages which intentionally degrade the game's visuals to match those of classic 80s and 90s gaming systems.

"Taking Exception from concept to reality with a one-man team has been incredibly challenging, but watching the game transition into something really unique has made the whole endeavor worthwhile," said developer Will Traxler.  He continued: "there is still a substantial amount of work remaining, but I hope the gaming public sees the progress which has been made and joins the effort to help get Exception over the finish line."
