SMITE is an online battleground between mythical gods. SMITE is similar to DotA games but with a few significant changes including a third-person perspective and WASD movement. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session based 5 versus 5 arena combat, and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions.
For Xing Tian there is no defeat; there is no death. As long as there is a battle to be fought, he will never surrender. And he will never die. SMITE’s latest addition, a versatile god that can be aggressive in lane and boasts a unique ultimate ability.
Using his massive axes and powerful voice from the face in his chest, Xing Tian can inflict damage and negative effects on his enemies. His ultimate, Whirlwind of Rage and Steel, deals heavy damage and sweeps multiple enemies up before throwing them outward and towards waiting allies. Xing Tian gains stacks of rage each time he hits an enemy with an ability. For each stack he has, Xing Tian gains HP5. Stacks last for a duration.
"We actually took some inspiration from a number of directions on Xing Tian's Kit. But one of the big ones was the Soul Calibur series; I grew up really enjoying them and tried to bring some of that feel to Hook Slam, Sky-Cutting Axe, and Whirlwind of Rage and Steel. Overall though, the biggest inspirations came from his lore."
"One of the interesting things about Xing Tian's lore is that he is not so much a winner as a general who refuses to be defeated, kind of like a Chinese Leonidas. Then of course he's regrown his face on his chest, so we wanted to bring that out in his very soldier-esque battle shout. He's also renowned for his axe and shield style, so we really tried to highlight that in the kit."
Xing Tian has a few options on the battlefield. He can use his dash to catch up to a fleeing opponent and then toss them back to his team with his ult, for instance. His ult and his knock-up offer a pretty potent set-up for damage dealers. He can also be aggressive in lane with his line attack affording him both some space for aggression with its effect on minions, as well as setting up his passive.
