Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Deliver Us The Moon is playable in both 1st and 3rd person perspective, offering you an open world lunar exploration experience where you define the future of mankind and define your own ending.
Deliver Us The Moon is set in the near future where the earth's resources are nearly depleted. The nations of the world have come together to create the Worldwide Space Agency (WSA). Under the banner of the WSA, astronauts were sent to the moon to conduct research aimed at securing the future of mankind. Sadly, due to bickering between countries, no solution has been agreed upon. Now, with man's absolute last resources, you, a brave astronaut gone rogue, take the great step to the moon in a do-or-die secret mission to save humanity.
"We met Koen and Jordy from KeokeN Interactive at E3 in Los Angeles earlier this year. They showed us their game Deliver Us The Moon that they've been working on for some time and we were impressed by their progress and their attitude to game development in general. These are young and upcoming independent game developers who know what they're doing but sometimes need a helping hand to make sure their project reach its full potential. We’re proud to take the team under our wings and make sure to support and help them make this the best game it can be." said Almir Listo, Starbreeze Global Brand Director.
"One of the most beautiful things to see as a developer is an amazing community helping you kickstart your dream project and make it possible to partner with an incredible publisher like Starbreeze Studios to create a professional and sustainable future. This alliance will make sure we will deliver the moon around the world." - Koen Deetman CEO KeokeN Interactive.
What is going to change for Deliver Us The Moon?
Don’t worry, Deliver Us The Moon’s core concept is not going to change. What we promised in the Kickstarter will still be there. However, in the Kickstarter we promised you a base game cut into 5 episodes releasing between August 2016 – August 2017.
Starbreeze and KeokeN have discussed and concluded that this needs a little change. We are currently focusing on a full-game release rather than episodic content. Also, it's highly necessary to invest more time in the quality by creating more ‘density’ in our levels and gameplay rather than the quantity of levels. Currently the player experience is aimed too much at a run and gun rushing principle, players tend to rush through the environment instead of taking time to explore around.
We also decided that the main mechanic of the game should be “Exploration” instead of something else. Everything we would add to the game should fit into that realm and purpose and should add to ‘Being an Astronaut’. This means the player will be more on their own, adding to the experience of being alone on the moon. Of course, we will introduce you to this way of playing first, but eventually we would like to leave everything up to you in the game and see how you solve problems you will encounter in the game.
During your adventure your only companion will be a small robot named ASE, the all seeing eye. Together, you will traverse the moon, explore abandoned facilities and perhaps even uncover some secrets and hidden agendas with the information you gather. Only by working together will you be able to stand a chance in succeeding on delivering the moon!
You will become the rogue astronaut that the WSA is sending to the moon in a final do-or-die mission to save mankind from extinction. You will explore the moon and discover tools to help you during your lunar adventure together with ASE.
During your adventure, you will encounter a small flying robot called ASE. This little fellow will accompany you throughout your lunar endeavors. ASE will help you get through hazardous zones and help you face the dangers the moon has in store for you.
