Set in the far reaches of outer space during a new Dark Age, WarFrame introduces the Tenno, a race on the brink of extinction after being enslaved by the Grineer for centuries. Players enter WarFrame on the cusp of the Grineer's victory over the Tenno until they begin to arm themselves with WarFrames - an ancient exo-skeletal technology only they can operate. Hidden within the Orokin Derelicts of a lost civilization, new WarFrames lie dormant and undiscovered. These artifacts are the Tenno's only hope for survival.

WarFrame is a free-to-play fast-action PvE shooter set in an evolving sci-fi world. Some would call it MMO-Lite as squads of four players band together to advance their characters and battle the oppression of the genocidal Grineer. Throughout their combat missions, players will continually increase the power and abilities of their WarFrame and weapons. Players will raid new areas of space searching for exotic and powerful weapons and WarFrame augmentations to customize their arsenal. With WarFrame's Automatic Mission Generator, the game will offer endless replay as levels are procedurally configured for a unique raid -- every time.

The War Within will hit Warframe on Xbox One and PS4 this December for free, and to coincide with this announcement, Digital Extremes is launching a massive Warframe Prime Gaming Giveaway featuring complete, custom Prime Gaming Setups for PC, Xbox One and PS4™ as well as a chance to play the next Warframe Prime gear a week before its released to the public.

Among many features, this The War Within update contains the highly anticipated quest continuing last December's The Second Dream in which players learned the long kept secret – Who are the Tenno?  It has since become Warframe's most talked about and played update to date, with anticipation for The War Within nearing a feverish level as the saga is about to continue.

The War Within quest will push both Warframe and Operator past their limits as they venture into the Grineer Queen's fortress to unravel mysteries about the Tenno's past and hidden capabilities. These twisted Monarchs have lurked in the shadows, preferring to let their minions do their dirty work – but now it is time to uncover their true intentions face-to-face. In addition to the cinematic quest, The War Within update also includes new weapons, customizations, maps, and enemies, as well as a few secrets to be revealed closer to launch.

In order to play the quest upon its release, Warframe players must have completed The Second Dream quest and unlocked the Pluto-Sedna Junction. Digital Extremes also encourages players to ready their loadouts and don their best-dressed Warframe and Operator before playing their new cinematic journey. Players are encouraged to share their loadouts with the Dev team on Warframe's official social media channels by tagging it with #TheWarWithin.
