'Dragon Fin Soup' (ALL) Gets Extra Chunky Edition, Also Coming to Xbox One

by Rainier on April 7, 2016 @ 12:00 a.m. PDT

A charming hybrid tactical action RPG with roguelike elements, Dragon Fin Soup is set in a world inspired by fairy tales and classic JRPGs.

Set in a beautiful, high-resolution World, Dragon Fin Soup features deep RPG mechanics, tactical decision making, turn-based but action oriented controls and serves the player with witty humor and deeply flawed characters, complete with original stories, crafting, fishing, gathering, pets and many other fun features.

The world of Dragon Fin Soup begins on the back of Asura, a giant dragon-turtle god who swims the multiverse of space-time, players choose to unravel the tale of their character in Story Mode or embark on a journey to discover the wilds of Asura in Survival Mode. With a variety of compelling locations to explore including spider forests, ice caves, abandoned mines, scorching deserts, mushroom forests and haunted mansions, Dragon Fin Soup kicks off the action with the tale of Red Robin, whose bloody dark past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance.

Story mode focuses on storytelling, character progression and exploration. Beginning in a country village where players learn the mysteries of the world and encounter a custom blend of scripted events, crafted story quests and procedurally generated missions.

Survival mode plays like a classic Roguelike and is designed for the thrills and scares that come with exploring the dungeons, permanent death, fighting monsters and surviving to achieve the highest scores.

“I’m really excited to be working with Ash, Randis, and the rest of the Grimm Bros team!”, said Jim Buck, CEO of Twitchy Thumbs Entertainment. “A Sony Alumni who has been working on PlayStation platforms since the original Playstation over 20 years ago, I started Twitchy Thumbs Entertainment, Inc. in 2005 and have known Ash and Randis for a very long time. Together we have quite a lineup of new features in store for Dragon Fin Soup this year and are happy to be able to welcome Xbox One, mobile, Mac, Linux and FireTV players as well”.

Grimm Bros’ CEO, Ash Monif, says: “We want to apologize again to all our PSN players in the community. We had no intention of leaving you hanging for so long after the initial version of DFS launched, and there has been a lot of confusion, frustration, and false information. It has been a difficult and complicated process to say the least, but we are making headway. We know you are beyond resilient and patient, and we are forever grateful to you all.”

“In addition to the upcoming re-port of DFS:ECE to PSN, we will send all of you who purchased a copy of DFS for PSN a free STEAM or DRM key to hold you over until the update goes live. We know many of you have been waiting to play Dragon Fin Soup and hope this helps quench your RPG appetite. Thanks again for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates and news coming during PAX East this year, including how to redeem your free STEAM/DRM copy”.
