Monster Hunter Generations is the most customizable Monster Hunter experience to date, and serves as a fitting tribute to the last decade of the series with a blend of brand new areas and monsters, and returning fan-favorites that have been updated and adapted to the newest generation of gameplay.

Generations introduces new gameplay mechanics including Styles and Hunter Arts that can further refine a very personalized playstyle. Mount monsters from mid-air using the Aerial style or make the most out of the advantageous Hunter Arts abilities with the Striker style. Hunter Arts are visually striking, indispensable combat skills and power-ups that hunters using any style or weapon can equip.

Along the hunter’s journey, players must defend each of the game’s four villages from new major threats—the Fated Four. With hundreds of quests in store, there are tons of challenges to tackle in a solo adventure, and also via local or online play with up to three other hunters.

This latest installment marks the debut of new gameplay mechanics such as Styles and Hunter Arts which allow players to create the most custom, personalized playstyle of any Monster Hunter game yet. Players can choose from four distinct combat Styles, like Aerial which adds the ability to attack and mount monsters from mid-air. With the introduction of devastating new attack skills and power-ups known as Hunter Arts, the action looks more visually striking than ever before on 3DS.

For the first time in the series, players will have the ability to now play as a Felyne themselves in the new Prowler Mode. In this mode, there are even more adventures to be had in unique quests playing either as a Felyne alone or with up to three other companions in group quests. With hundreds of quests in store for hunters and Felynes, there are tons of challenges to tackle in the solo adventure, and also multiplayer quests via local or online play, opening up the epic world of Monster Hunter to players of all levels.

Capcom confirmed details for a downloadable demo of Monster Hunter Generations, which features three monsters of varying difficulty levels for both new and experienced players, with options for local and online multiplayer (1-4 players).

Players are encouraged to join up with others and start with the newly introduced Great Maccao, then attempt to face the beguiling new owl-like monster Malfestio, all before truly testing their mettle against the fan-favorite Nargacuga. The demo will be available for all gamers to download on the Nintendo eShop on June 30th. However, select fans will begin to receive special early access codes for the demo via email beginning today. For others that can’t wait to start the hunt, early access to the demo is also available now in Humble Bundle’s E3 2016 Digital Ticket.

The brand new E3 trailer for Monster Hunter Generations introduces the game’s daunting new enemies known as Deviant monsters. These are monsters that have survived previous hunter encounters, mutating and evolving into the greatest threats yet with new fearsome looks, unpredictable behaviors and unexpected abilities. These challengers, such as the Dreadking Rathalos and the Thunderlord Zinogre, yield parts to craft incredibly powerful and unique gear; which become worthy rewards for the most skilled hunters.
