'Minecraft: Story Mode' (ALL) Ep. 8 - A Journey's End? Next Week

by Rainier on Sept. 7, 2016 @ 8:45 a.m. PDT

Minecraft: Story Mode will be a narrative-driven episodic video game all set in the world of Minecraft.

Set in the world of Minecraft, the game series introduces new characters and familiar themes, but is an entirely original Minecraft experience inspired by the game that continues to inspire a generation.

Telltale's game series will mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience.

In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named 'Jesse,' you'll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse's friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

The season features Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, John Hodgman, and Paul Reubens.

In Episode 8: 'A Journey's End?', with Harper leading them to the world of the Old Builders, Jesse and crew finally have their chance to return home... but it won't be easy, and the stakes are high. You'll need to take on opponents in a series of gladiatorial games to win your freedom, save your friends, and maybe, just maybe, make it back to your own world!

The all-star cast gets two more new additions for this episode, with Jim Cummings (Winnie the PoohDarkwing Duck) as Hadrian, the leader of the Old Builders; and Kari Wahlgren (Rick and Morty, The Fairly OddParents) as Mevia, the Enforcer.

The third and final episode in the 'Adventure Pass' add-on series, Episode 8: 'A Journey's End?' will be available digitally worldwide starting Tuesday September 13th on PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the PlayStation Network for PS4 and PS3, and on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360. The episode will be available the same week for compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and for compatible Android-based devices via Google Play and the Amazon Appstore; and will also be coming to the Windows Store.

This episode may be purchased digitally as part of the Adventure Pass for $14.99 USD or equivalent, which includes access to Episodes 6, 7, and 8 as they release. The episode will also be available individually for $4.99 USD or equivalent. Players need to own at least Episode 1 in the series, or the season pass disc, in order to purchase Episodes 6, 7, and 8.

The series will also be coming to Wii U and PlayStation Vita.
