Beginning this Friday, January 20, the Elder Scrolls’ legendary Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath, will once again seize control of an alternate PvP Arena mode, plunging matches into chaos with randomly introduced scenarios and lane rules.
Moving forward, Chaos Arena will be a monthly special event for players, and, in future iterations, will introduce new, unique gameplay conditions that will continue to challenge competitors to devise emerging strategies as game rules change on the fly.
Chaos Arena will begin Friday, January 20 and end Monday, January 23.
Chaos Arena is an optional mode for PvP that randomly introduces one or more Special Scenarios or lane rules to each match. Special Scenarios include extra Magicka available for players; beginning games with cards already played in lanes; players swapping decks at the start of a match; and much more. Lane rules changes include random items; cards changing lanes randomly throughout the game; special buffs and bonuses in specific lanes; and much more.

The Madhouse Collection
Originally launched in conjunction with Chaos Arena in December, the Madhouse Collection is a special set of cards that brings a fresh set of strategic options for use in all Arena modes, including Sheogorath’s bizarre Chaos Arena. Purchasing the Madhouse Collection earns players three copies of each card as well as an Arena Ticket, which allows players to try Chaos Arena or jump online into regular Arena. The Madhouse Collection cards are available now for purchase with either in-game gold or for money through the in-game store.

A lane can even have a special condition that affects cards played there providing further challenges and opportunities.
- Choose Your Path: Select your avatar from the nine well-known races of Tamriel, and receive gameplay rewards complimenting that race’s play style and unique in-game strengths. As you adventure through the game, your character gains levels and your card collection grows. Make choices during the single-player campaign that will unlock new cards and upgrade some basic cards to new versions. Legends allows you to change your approach to fit your playstyle and the decks that you want to build and play.
- Story Mode: In The Elder Scrolls: Legends Story Mode, you must escape from dark cultists and follow a path that leads all the way to an Emperor in exile. On your journey you’ll face a variety of opponents with different abilities and powers based on their card decks and strategies. Story mode provides hours of single-player gameplay where you’ll earn new cards you can use to make your decks more powerful and versatile.
- Arena Mode: Once you’ve learned the basics, enter ‘Arena Mode’ to battle AI or human opponents in a series of matches. Build your deck from the ground up and face AI opponents which become more and more challenging. Or, play against friends or other players where you’ll both create a deck and battle until one side dominates. The more wins you earn, the better your rewards. Every time you play in this mode you’ll find a unique and challenging experience.
