'Resident Evil 7' (ALL) Shows Off End of Zoe and Not a Hero DLCs - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 16, 2017 @ 12:28 p.m. PDT

Resident Evil 7 is the latest game in the series, and is focused on immersive horror with the main concept building upon the series' roots of fear, exploration and tense atmosphere.

Resident Evil 7 sets a new course for the Resident Evil series as it leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience. A dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photo realistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE Engine, Resident Evil 7 delivers an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.

Resident Evil 7 embodies the series’ signature gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined “survival horror” some twenty years ago; meanwhile, a complete refresh of gameplay systems simultaneously propels the survival horror experience to the next level. Terrifying fans at events across the globe last year, the PlayStation VR “KITCHEN” tech demo was developed utilizing the RE Engine’s VR oriented tools, and is the foundation on which the talented Resident Evil team has crafted the immersive horror experience in Resident Evil 7. Powered by the RE Engine in tandem with industry leading audio and visual technologies, Resident Evil 7 is poised to deliver a disturbingly realistic experience that will define the next era in horror entertainment.

The trailer and screens introduce some new glimpses into End of Zoe, featuring a mysterious outdoorsman named Joe who lives along the bank of the marshes and has a chance encounter with Zoe that sets both their fates in motion.

The new assets also showcase the free Not a Hero DLC, featuring the return of Resident Evil fan favorite and veteran BSAA soldier Chris Redfield. Taking place after the horrific events that befell Ethan Winters in Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Chris is on the hunt for Lucas Baker to bring an end to the Baker tragedy once and for all. BSAA agents had tried to take on Lucas previously, but were unsuccessful and themselves became captives of the menacing trickster. Can Chris save the team while also tracking down Lucas through perilous poison gas filled dungeons?

Resident Evil 7 biohazardGold Edition will be coming to retail and digital on PS4, Xbox One and PC, alongside the remaining DLC for the game, all on December 12, 2017. Gold Edition will include all the contents from the critically acclaimed release earlier this year along with all three pieces of downloadable add-on content, in one ultimate horror package. These previously released DLC packs - Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Banned Footage Vol. 2 will be included as well as the upcoming third DLC release End of Zoe.

End of Zoe will be included in Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition or available as an update if you are a Season Pass owner. Owners of the original release will also be able to purchase the content as a separate download for $14.99/€14.99/£11.99. The Not a Hero DLC content will be available to download for free for owners of any version of Resident Evil 7 biohazard on December 12th as well.
