'Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan' Will Feature Iconic Action Hero Serious Sam - Screens

by Rainier on Oct. 6, 2017 @ 8:09 a.m. PDT

Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan is a sci-fi hack'n slash MMORPG that boasts MOBA-style Skill and Hero Systems rounded out by a variety of PvP modes and raid dungeons for up to 15 players.

Wild Buster is a Sci-Fi Action MMORPG with a heavy focus on a range of PvP mechanics. By joining either the human Guardians or the mutant Abandon factions, players will be able to choose from more than 12 characters, all with a varied spectrum of skills for unique play styles, that allow players to adopt a variety of roles more commonly found in MOBAs rather than in MMORPG environments. While facing a mutual enemy, Guardian and Abandon fighter will inevitably square off against each other for resources, in guild battles, when participating in the Squad League, or by intercepting each other during epic dungeon raids.

Set in a war-torn solar system, players chose one of more than a dozen heroes from two rival factions, Guardians or Abandon, in order to take on the common threat of the Brokken, an aggressive cyborg race bent on dooming the few remaining humans to the same bleak half-man-half-machine fate. The heroes of both factions differ in both background and abilities, and call for distinctly different playstyles. The Guardians, a military organisation who rely on strict discipline and training, will most likely team up to attack in an organised role-based squad. Alternatively, the Abandon, a motley crew of unbound mutants, make the perfect lone wolves and are experts in utilizing weapons and gadgets to survive even in the harshest environments. Each hero has a distinct set of unique abilities such as a sniper rifle or a strong combat pet which make strategic team composition paramount to mastering the game. Nevertheless, both factions allow for extensive group play, especially with the guild system for which guild battles between factions and unique headquarters (Wild Buster’s take on guild halls) are under development.

Finally, Sam Stone gets his teeth into some serious sci-fi mumbo-jumbo, giving Mental’s minions a break and joining the fight for Planet Titan. By teaming up with renowned developer Croteam, Insel Games adds another iconic videogame hero with a well-known reputation for eliminating an alien threat to their sci-fi Hack’n’Slash MMORPG. With this exciting addition, Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan becomes the first game to ever feature Serious Sam and Duke Nukem together as playable characters.

Being rather familiar with  fending off hordes of enemies with a range of over-the-top weaponry in a tongue-in-cheek environment, Sam is the perfect candidate to support the existing team of playable heroes. And thanks to the recent addition of Duke Nukem, two of the most iconic videogame stars will finally fight side by side against the alien hordes - or face off in PvP!

“When we told Croteam about the addition of Duke Nukem to Wild Buster, they immediately agreed to give Sam a well-deserved vacation on the planet Titan so that the two of them  could finally meet”, recalls Patrick Streppel, CEO of Insel Games. “We are honored that Croteam believes in our game and this paves the way for more heroes to join our galactic Hack’n’Slash fest!”

Backers of the Indiegogo campaign are currently testing Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan as part of the week-long Alpha and helping the veteran development team get everything ready for an Early Access launch later this month. Serious Sam and Duke Nukem will be added in the following weeks.

Combining Sci-Fi MMORPG and Hack’n’Slash with extensive PvP options and MOBA elements, Wild Buster already enjoys great popularity in South Korea. Independent Publisher InselGames is now bringing the game to the western market and will fund the adaptation of game mechanics as well as the English and German localisation with an IndieGoGo campaign. Backers have a variety of different perks to choose from, like T-Shirts, special in-game items, access to the Alpha Test or even a meet and greet with the developers.

Insel Games plans to enter Steam Early Access in late October.
