'Decksplash' Races Half-Way To Its Free Special Event Week Goal

by Rainier on Nov. 8, 2017 @ 6:44 a.m. PST

Team up and take on your opponents in fast and frantic 3 vs 3 arcade-multiplayer turf-war action. Spin, grind, and splash your deck as you battle your opponents to cover the skate park with your paint!

Decksplash gets you straight into the action but you will need to practise your moves and hone your tricks to achieve the highest scoring combos. Beneath those cheeky deck designs there is deeper gameplay to be mastered.

Each Decksplash board has been visually designed by Bossa’s very own Dan Lish, adding visual flair to your tricks in-game. Skateboards range from Bossa Studios homages to a wide selection of creative designs, letting you customize your style!

Every board in the skateboarding turf war of Decksplash has its own personality and flavour - no humans required - guaranteeing players will leave an impression in 3v 3 PvP matches, where domination of the skatepark is achieved by nailing combos and the sickest tricks, splashing your team’s colour across the tarmac. Player skills are rewarded with loot during their online matches - switch up the deck design with this swag, to really stamp their identity on the matches.

Decksplash's ongoing Free Week is gathering steam (on Steam), and Bossa Studios has released a new video highlighting what players have done in-game so far. The free week is a unique trial which will determine the ultimate fate of this multiplayer skateboarding turf-war game.

As of today, the game has received over 54,000 downloads, and if players help Bossa hit the target of 100,000 by the end of the event, on Friday November 10th, then everyone will be rewarded as the game will be instantly promoted into Early Access. Achieving that target will provide Decksplash with the ideal conditions for launching into a sustainable ecosystem and guaranteeing a vibrant, competitive community.

It's all to play for.

The Free Week has already seen players covering a distance equivalent to skating around the world 12 times, and have splashed territory-claiming paint enough to cover a million football pitches.

Everything players earn during the Free Week — loot, levels, coins — will carry over to the Early Access version. Additionally, Free Week players will unlock and keep the Erik board set, giving them a unique part of Decksplash history that nobody else will be able to get afterwards.

Key Features:

  • Chain Combos - Linking tricks with grinds creates bigger combos and bigger combos mean higher scores... the higher the score, the more colossal your paint splash.
  • Create Tricks - For the first time in a Bossa game we give you GENUINELY responsive controls! Yes, you heard it right, in this game we want you to grind your deck and not your teeth! You have direct control of the board, allowing you to create your own tricks and combos to get the biggest score possible.
  • Shockwaves - Ride through your team’s paint to build up your Shockwave meter and unleash a powerful blast that will disrupt your opponents and cause them to instantly lose their combo!
  • Score Zone - Drop a Score Zone with your Shockwave at strategic points in the arena. If your friends can land tricks in the Zone they’ll nail a score multiplier! Work with your teammates to place this in the right spots at the right time.
  • Study the Opposition - Keep an eye on the other team’s progress so you can time your strategy just right! The size of a player's combo is reflected by the size and vibrancy of their trail and on-screen indicators show you their position when they are not in your field of view.
  • Dominate the arena - Get to grips with the layout to know where the best scoring areas are for maximum paint coverage.
