'WRC 7' (ALL) Shows Off Epic Stages, New Citroën C3 World Rally Car - Trailer

by Rainier on July 12, 2017 @ 1:01 a.m. PDT

WRC 7 is the official racing game of the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship season, including all 13 WRC rounds, all the official WRC drivers and teams, as well as new Epic stages.

The rules of the World Rally Championship have changed. Enter: new beastly cars, more powerful and aggressive than ever before. Get ready to coat these beauties in mud and experience a surge of power that has never felt so real!

WRC 7 will feature the dynamic new 2017 World Rally Cars, which have thrilled fans around the world in one of the most exciting and unpredictable starts to a WRC season. WRC 7 will present current car liveries from all four manufacturer teams in the 2017 championship - Citroën Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team, Hyundai Motorsport, M-Sport World Rally Team and Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team.

In WRC 7, the official cars, which take advantage of all-new rules to gain a more dynamic and aggressive appearance as well as more power, are the new stars and are turning everyone’s heads. This is notably the case for the Citroën C3 WRC, driven by Kris Meeke, Andreas Mikkelsen, Stéphane Lefebvre, Craig Breen, and Khalid Al Qassimi, which is showcased in the all new trailer.

New special stages are appearing in WRC 7: Epic Stages. Each of the Championship’s 13 rallies will offer players a real endurance test with much longer and even more realistic special stages.

“The idea of WRC 7’s Epic Stages is really to response to fans of rallying and WRC who for several years have been asking us for tracks that are longer and closer to a real rally experience,” states Alain Jarniou, Kylotonn’s Game Director.  “These special stages, which are longer than 20 km and last for more than 15 minutes of gameplay, are certain to test the players’ endurance. It’s also interesting to find all these different conditions in one single, solitary special stage,” concludes Alain Jarniou.

The trailer highlights Rally Guanajuato Mexico’s El Chocolate special stage, one of the game’s 13 Epic Stages, which offers varied conditions: long straights through Mexican villages, much more sinuous stretches up the side of a mountain, and rocky roads along cliff edges.

Gamers will be able to choose from all 13 WRC rounds and take their pick from all the sport’s leading drivers, including four-time world champion Sébastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville, Kris Meeke and Jari-Matti Latvala.

WRC 7 will also include the Ford Fiesta R2T, the car campaigned by all competitors in the FIA Junior World Rally Championship. There will also be a special bonus car.

The design of the special stages has been refined to ensure bumpier roads and tougher driving conditions. Longer tests provide up to 15 minutes of gameplay to test skills and concentration to the limit.

Sébastien Chardonnet, 2013 WRC 3 champion, has provided expert advice to Kylotonn, which has also incorporated feedback from team engineers into the new game.

WRC 7 will form the base of the eSports WRC Championship for a third year. Competition in the second season of the online series is fierce, with global gamers battling to win a top prize Hyundai i20 road car in multi-player tournaments run simultaneously with WRC rounds.
