It appears we’ll witness the “first” appearance of the Balrog in Shadow of War as he’s summoned by orcs from a pit of lava (and our battles with him will continue across Mordor).

Another force we’re introduced to is Carnan, a mighty spirit of nature who has survived in Mordor. This primeval creature can take on a variety of forms, but it’s hard to tell yet if she’ll be a friend or foe to Talion.

The scope of the game is also back on display in this trailer, with a variety of geography showcased of what and where we can explore, like the forests of Nurn, the barren land of Gorgoroth, and the frozen mountains of Seregost.
