Overkill's The Walking Dead is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth, that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers.

Inspired by the rich story universe of Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, Overkill's The Walking Dead is set in Washington, D.C., as an outbreak brings the dead back to life. In this test of strategy and endurance, players will band together with up to three friends on a variety of missions and raids, securing supplies and survivors to strengthen their base camp against the threat of both the dead and the living - by any means necessary.

Each playable character has their own special abilities, skill trees, squad roles, play styles and background stories. Now they all share a common objective where survival and teamwork is paramount. The action is close-up and intense: take out enemies carefully with silent melee attacks or go in guns blazing. You need to be able to improvise, as nothing is certain, and a horde of walkers is always around the corner.

As previously announced, Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment and 505 Games have released the PC closed beta of Overkill's The Walking Dead.

The game’s first two missions will be available together with two camp defense scenarios, with additional stages rolling out in the lead up to its official global launch on PC on Nov. 6. Closed beta access is guaranteed with PC pre-orders of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, available now via Steam. Players who buy the standard PC version, priced at $59.99, will receive a single closed beta invite. Those who pre-order the game’s deluxe edition – featuring the full game, the “Night Raid” cosmetic skin pack, and a digital art book and soundtrack, all for $79.99 – will receive four closed beta keys to share with friends. As a bonus, all PC pre-orders will receive the bonus OVERKILL cosmetic skin pack.

Overkill's The Walking Dead is expected to launch on PC starting November  6, 2018 (Nov. 8 in Europe), while the PS4 and Xbox One editions are scheduled for Feb. 6, 2019 in North America and Feb. 8, 2019 in Europe
