God Eater 3 is the latest iteration of the monster-slaying Action RPG series, where you team up with other God Eaters equipped with the latest God Arc weapons to take down monstrous new Aragami tearing apart locations around the globe.

Earth no longer resembles the home we know of now. The Aragami, terrifying beasts that live only to consume, are carving a path of destruction and misery wherever they are encountered.

To combat this threat an elite group of heroes known as God Eaters are called upon to save humanity. God Eaters are individuals who have been bestowed upon them the ability to wield powerful new God Arcs, special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami. However, another mission is coming into focus; something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between light and dark has never been so thin.

It’s time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the souls of the God Eaters as the battle rages on around them.

Following the destruction of their home, GOD EATER 3 will see the game’s protagonists rescued by the crew of an Ash Crawler called Chrysanthemum. Ash Crawlers serve as the hub ships of the GOD EATER heroes and the sole lifeline for humans in this post-apocalyptic world. They’re covered with Anti-Aragami walls that protects the last remnants of humanity from the effects of the outside world, as well as housing Resonance Radars systems to seek out and destroy dangerous Aragami.

Following a devastating Ash Storm, The Chrysanthemum crew have lost their members that were capable of operating the Resonance Radar. To survive, they enlist the help of players to defeat the Aragami and restore the routes through the Ashlands. From their moving base, players will have to scout ahead into new and uncharted areas of the Ashlands, to safely guide the Caravan deeper into the world.

Also, revealed today is a new character Phym, a mysterious girl sporting a horn on her forehead. Met by the protagonists during a scouting mission, Phym is a vital part of the GOD EATER 3 story and their encounter with her will change both their lives forever.

The final feature revealed today is the Burst Arts special attack system. This is a move that players can use only during Burst Mode. The Burst Arts special attacks takes a different form depending on what the players are doing; running, jumping, be on the ground, or in the air. Players will be able to forge their own unique playstyle by choosing the perfect attack.

Players will also be able to customise their characters and what Burst Arts Effects they applyfor each move, providing a vast number of different combinations.

Many regions of the world, known as the Ashlands, have become uninhabitable, forcing humanity to live in underground shelters called Ports. Within the Ashlands are fierce new Ash Aragami such as Anubis and Ra, which provide the ultimate challenge for God Eaters.

Adaptive God Eaters are closer to Aragami than God Eaters in the past, making them stronger and deadlier in combat, while also resistant to the Ashlands deadly air. One of these new Adaptive God Eaters is Hugo Pennywort. Hugo is quick-witted and a man of action, making him a substantial leader. The protagonist and Hugo grew up together and consider each other brothers.

The Biting Edge God Arc is a dual bladed weapon that focuses on quick slashes and stabbing attacks. The Ray Gun can provide an extremely strong ranged attack provided it is timed correctly. God Eater 3 also introduces the Engage System and Accelerator Trigger. The Engage System is activated when team mates stay close to each other during missions to help promote close team work when striking Aragami. The Accelerator Trigger is a new passive skill that are activated with certain requirements such as performing a perfect guard.

God Eater 3 will be available for the PS4 and for PC (Steam) on 8th February, 2019.
