Rockfish Games Staffing Up For New Title In Development

by Rainier on Nov. 15, 2018 @ 5:05 p.m. PST

Rockfish Games is strengthening its team shortly before the turn of the year to successfully develop a new ambitious action title and start the new year with more development power.

Details of the new game from the Everspace makers are expected to be announced in mid-2019.

"It's now one of the best-known industry secrets that we're already working on our next action title. However, its scope and functionality will be much more ambitious than our studio debut Everspace. We are therefore very pleased that we were able to enthuse some former companions as well as new talents with a lot of industry experience for our company," says Michael Schade, co-founder and CEO.

Already at the beginning of the conception phase more than a year ago, the veteran team of the former Fishlabs Entertainment founders Michael Schade and Christian Lohr was enriched by the Korean AAA production experienced Senior Concept Artist JC Park to design characters, environments and storyboards on an international top level. Previously, the experienced programmer Till Riemer, who worked on Expeditions: Viking for Logic Artists in Denmark, had been hired. After completing porting work of Everspace for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, he is now in charge of AI for the new project.

With the successful completion of the prototype phase of the new project, ROCKFISH Games was able to win Mathias Ebell, one of the very first employees at Fishlabs Entertainment, as a further experienced senior programmer, who will take over the UI/UX programming department with immediate effect. In mid-November, Thilo Eggers, who previously created high-quality UIs and UX for Porsche, Voith and the Lürssen shipyard at Faktor 3 Design, will also visibly boost ROCKFISH Games as UI/UX designer.

To further strengthen the team, the Hamburg-based company has hired Kevin Mentz and Thorben Kohler, two experienced developers for the design and implementation of extensive player missions. The entire team is supported by Caspar Michel as Project Manager, who, together with Mentz and Kohler, has successfully worked on "The Pillars of the Earth" for Daedalic Entertainment. The latest addition is Vanessa Constant, also a former companion at Fishlabs Entertainment, who will be responsible for Office Management, HR and Accounting.
