You're a State-installed Landlord in a totalitarian State. You must spy on tenants, peep, eavesdrop and profile! You must report on anyone capable of plotting subversion against the State. You MUST! But WILL you?

Inspired heavily by George Orwell’s groundbreaking 1984 the philosophical narrative of Beholder, opens up questions around issues of social and moral values. If you are given the power to destroy privacy, should you follow the orders of the giver? Or should you treat those that you spy on the way they deserve? Who decides what is deserved? And what if two different people deserve to be saved, but one has to go? Who will you choose?

Your primary task is to covertly watch your tenants and eavesdrop on their conversations. You must BUG their apartments while they're away, SEARCH their belongings for whatever can threaten the authority of the State, and PROFILE them for your superiors. You must also REPORT anyone capable of violating the laws or plotting subversive activities against the State to the authorities.

You are a cog in a totalitarian machine!
But you can still choose to cling to your humanity and empathize with others.

Will you report the suspicious activities of a father and orphan his children? Or will you withhold the details about his illegal activities and give him a chance to make things right? You may also choose to blackmail him to acquire the money your family desperately needs.

As you play the game, you'll interact with many characters and complete dozens of quests. You'll also make decisions that will affect the way the story unfolds. This will lead to one of several game endings - the ending you have earned!

Developer Warm Lamp Games and publisher Curve Digital announced that totalitarian spy simulation - Beholder: Complete Edition, will launch on the eShop for Nintendo Switch on December 6th, complete with the ‘Blissful Sleep’ DLC.

“Mixing management and spying mechanics with a choice-driven narrative, Beholder: Complete Edition is an amazing addition to Curve’s catalogue,” said Simon Byron, Publishing Director at Curve Digital. “It’s a darkly comic look at an authoritarian future, featuring beautiful visuals and a touching story. We hope Nintendo Switch owners love the game as much as we do.”

“Inspired heavily by George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and Ray Bradbury, Beholder: Complete Edition, challenges issues of morality,” said Evgeny Sister, Producer at Alawar Premium, who originally published Beholder on PC. “If you are given the power to destroy privacy, do you follow orders or treat those with compassion?”

Beholder: Complete Edition comes complete with the ‘Blissful Sleep’ DLC and tasks players to wrestle with impossible choices in a bleak world where the state controls everything; survival is a struggle; and someone is always watching. Do you adhere to the law or your personal interests? Will you be an unapologetic slumlord or the best landlord ever to your tenants? Report on their unsanctioned activities, or keep their private lives to yourself? Choose to protect your family through unsavoury schemes or selfless sacrifice. With procedurally generated scenarios and over 20 different endings to uncover - no decision will be easy.

Already available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, Beholder: Complete Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch December 6th, retailing for £11.99, €14.99, $14.99.
