'Escape from Tarkov' Beta Update Adds Flea Market, New Animations, Tweaks and Fixes

Escape from Tarkov is a narrative MMO mix of FPS/TPS and RPG genres, where you find yourself in a modern Russian city sunk into anarchy: only the fittest will solve the mysteries of Tarkov and get out alive.

Escape from Tarkov pushes the boundaries of genres and offers a new kind of gameplay based on a multitude of tactical and combat factors and the use of additional modules that improve game realism.

Events take place in a realistic setting in the Russian city of Tarkov. Main characters work for two private military companies locked in bloody conflict on the streets of the settlement surrounded by UN forces and Russian Military. Players need to find a way out of the isolated Tarkov, survive the deadly hazards and unearth all mysteries of the city. Following the wildly twisted plot, heroes of Escape from Tarkov meet many dangers – from hostile mercenaries of enemy faction to aggressive environment. Death may come suddenly in a multitude of ways: character may perish because of consequences of different injuries, illnesses, exhaustion and radiation poisoning.

To survive in a harsh and unpredictable world, players use numerous MMO system modules: users can control all actions and movements of their character and choose from a wide range of behaviors and tactics.

Escape from Tarkov's Hazardous Environment Combat Simulator employs a number of custom system modules to create incredibly immersive gameplay and make players feel the reality of what is happening in the game.


Last months we worked hard, the 0.10 patch allowed to improve the general state of the game, netcode, fixed plenty bags and different issues. At this time we released an update 0.10.5.***, among other things, it also contains many changes, improvements and fixes. Along with the update, we did a complete wipe of the game profiles while preserving weapon mastering, and the entire contents of the beta version of the game were automatically transformed into the contents of the Edge of Darkness edition. This version of the game has added a Flea Market, designed to create a new economic system in the game. Flea Market is a list of items that can be sold by players, every player can try a role of a merchant now. All items are divided into categories, players can use advanced search engine, a wish list and and other convenient filters and features for easy use with the new system. Every player can lay out any items for sale, exchange them for the items he needs, buy items from other players.

Moreover the encyclopedia-handbook for items already examined by the character appeared in the game. This update features an animated food and meds consumption. It is worth noting that it’s not a final iteration, animations will be refined as well as adding new ones.

With new patch the first iteration of player’s seasonal global Ranking are available on the game website. Its functionality is also not final and will be supplemented and refined in subsequent patches.

Behavior of AI were significantly improved. They became more effective and predictable opponents at the same time, besides there were eliminated most of the cases where the AI behaved strangely.

We continue to expand the concept of a realistic shooter. Blunt damage now depends on a armor class and bullet penetration ratio. Ergonomics is now calculated in a different way: mods values are added to the characteristics of the weapon that they are placed on, the skills and armor penalties are still added as a percentage. Furthermore the final weight of the weapon influences the characteristics of the ergonomics. Aiming speed, weapon sway, alignment of the line of sight, loudness of equipment noise when aiming depends on the characteristic of ergonomics.

Finally, with new quests and quest mechanics there were added MP7A1 SMG and new mods for Mosin rifle, as well as an ability to place players’ tags in a containers in the stash.
