'Heroes & Generals' v1.13 Update Rebrands Game, Adds New Map, Tanks And More

by Rainier on Dec. 11, 2018 @ 3:24 p.m. PST

Heroes & Generals WWII is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first person shooter set in WW2, where Germany, the United States and the Soviet Union fight for victory in one grand persistent online war.

Heroes & Generals WWII eliminates the formulaic baggage that weighs down the shooter genre by delivering satisfying strategic action in a full blown first-person shooter experience. Players are transported from the comfort of their browsers to authentic WWII battlefields, where they fight alongside thousands of gamers for persistent progression and military supremacy.

Each player in Heroes & Generals WWII chooses their own destiny. You might join the Axis and climb the ranks as a foot soldier, firing off countless rounds in epic battles for crucial landmarks. Or perhaps you’ll become a general in the US army and accept the task of deploying resources and reinforcements across a vast strategic map.

Either way your decisions and actions fundamentally impact the game. Whether you play a fearless infantryman blazing the trenches, a hotshot pilot renowned for precision bombing runs, a brutal gunner assigned to a rumbling tank battalion, or the ace commander directing it all from strategic command – every active soldier contributes to an evolving online war that will soon expand to smartphones and tablets as well.

The new “Stronghold” update is now live on Heroes & Generals WWII.

A new map inspired by one of the most famous WWII battles – the Defense of the Brest Fortress – is urban combat at its best. Three new tank destroyers have also been added: The German Panzerjäger V Jagdpanther, the Soviet SU-100 and the US M36 Tank Destroyer. Plus – in response to requests from the Heroes & Generals community - improved recoil on all hand-held weapons is now available.

  1. The M36 Tank Destroyer combines the mobility of the M10 with the firepower of the M26 Pershing. Also known as the ’Jackson’, the M36 is the fastest way to bring a 90mm gun where it needs to be.
  2. The SU-100 is armed with a mighty 100mm D-10S High Velocity gun. This monster can take on ANY foe and is mounted with a thick frontal armor.
  3. The Panzerjäger V Jagdpanther packs a powerful 88mm PaK 43 gun into the chassis of a Panther tank. A Tank Destroyer that not only excels in firepower and maneuverability, but also incorporates a solid frontal armor.

RETO MOTO has also refreshed their game’s visual identity and rebranded as “Heroes & Generals WWII”. It’s part of RETO MOTO’s vision for the future, which is to deliver the highest quality gaming experience and elevate their proposition to a true franchise.

RETO MOTO’s CEO Jean-Marc Broyer says: “We are excited about the Stronghold update and, combined with our new visual identity for Heroes & Generals WWII, we believe it sets the stage for a new beginning for RETO MOTO. Our focus is now even more on what the players need and what drives our franchise to the next level.”
