'Spacelords' (ALL) Update Adds SpaceGuilds, Weapon Revisions, Cards, Radar And More - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 12, 2018 @ 3:58 p.m. PST

Spacelords is a multiplayer online asymmetric adventure where you fight the invaders by teaming up with other Raiders, or turn the tables and storm into battle with those invaders fighting at your side!

An incredible discovery on one of Saturn’s moons leads a force of humans to the Broken Planet on the far reaches of the Universe. A source of energy called Aleph exists there that grants ultimate power to whoever controls it…

However, the human forces split into factions and fight amongst themselves for dominion over the Aleph. The peaceful inhabitants of the planet are caught in the crossfire, but a hero emerges amongst them who hopes to lead his people to freedom…

Using nefarious means and exploiting the disunity amongst the human ranks, Harec recruits a rag tag group of rogues, outlaws and hired guns from the various factions and pits them against those who would destroy his people...

In Spacelords, become a Raider and join the battle both on and offline in awesome 3rd person Brawler-Shooter gameplay. Customise your character’s combat style in unique ways with special collectible cards. Use Aleph to your advantage, to power special abilities, but manage it properly or you will give away your position on the battlefield!

In Spacelords you pick your protagonist and work together with three other players in a counter-operative adventure. The biggest idea underpinning the game is something akin to Dark Souls, where a single player, The Antagonist, can invade a match just as it begins and choose to fight alongside the bad guys against the four-player human team. The goal of this Antagonist is simply to troll the good guys and prevent them from achieving their mission objectives.

MercurySteam's SpaceGuilds update, the first milestone in Spacelords’ Roadmap, is now available for all PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Upon creating a new SpaceGuild, players will be able to team-up with friends and fight for better rewards and beating the highest scores in each of Spacelords’ 17 free missions. These SpaceGuilds can even be formed up by cross-platform players, with Steam users allying with PlayStation 4 players, or with Xbox One and Windows 10 players.

Each SpaceGuild can be customized with its own unique name, emblem and pennant, proudly displaying the Guild’s colours for all players to see. Admission to a SpaceGuild can be made public or private, and all members will have access to a team chat, to better coordinate their missions and set up the right strategy.

“With the inclusion of the SpaceGuilds we are empowering Spacelords’ players by enhancing the social aspects of the game,” commented Enric Álvarez, Studio Director. “Social interaction is key to any free to play, community-based game, and we plan to continue this trend by adding more social options, as well as exciting new content, in future game updates.”

But the SpaceGuilds update is also packed with many other new and exciting features based on the Spacelords’ community feedback. These new additions have been designed for both new and veteran players alike, in the form of revised weapons and missions, the inclusion of an ingame radar system, over 200 new Character Cards and an integrated troubleshooting system.

Spacelords (previously known as Raiders of the Broken Planet) is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
