'Control' (ALL) Shows Off Its Story And World, Livestream Today - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 20, 2018 @ 7:18 a.m. PST

Control (formerly known as P7) is a third-person action-adventure game combining Remedy’s trademark gunplay with supernatural abilities.

Control is set in a unique and ever-changing world that juxtaposes our familiar reality with the strange and unexplainable.

Welcome to the Federal Bureau of Control

After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, players will take on the role of Jesse Faden, the new Director struggling to regain Control. This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience built on the proprietary Northlight engine challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.

The new trailer features narration by the distinguished James McCaffrey (Max Payne, Alan Wake, “Rescue Me”) in the role of former Bureau Director Trench.

The World of Control

August 4, 1964. Bureau Agents discovered the Oldest House, investigating an Altered World Event case in the New York City Subway tunnels. It's a place of power. From the outside it looks like an ordinary building, a Brutalist skyscraper, but inside it breaks the laws of our reality, unstable, mad and shifting. There are rooms in the building, where other dimensions leak in. We call these rooms Thresholds.

There is a connection between our minds and the unknown, often hostile, forces intruding on our world. These forces gravitate toward everyday objects: a gun, a television, a house with a reputation of being haunted. So, somehow, we affect these events. We're holding the key but we don't have a clue on how to use it.

But there's something in us, in the dreams we dream, in the conceptual reality we power with our minds. What's the cause and what's the effect? Are we the starting point, or just a necessary evil in this? We're dealing with dangerous, unknown forces here. We're on a mission to find answers to these questions... or we die trying.

This is Zachariah Trench, The director of the Federal Bureau of Control.

To bring players even closer to the world of Control, Remedy Entertainment will host a global livestream direct from its development studio beginning at 8 a.m. PST today, Dec. 20, 2018, with VOD to follow.

Featuring Game Director Mikael “Mixu” Kasurinen, Lead Actress Courtney Hope (Quantum Break, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), Remedy Communications Director Thomas Puha and hosted by Control Community Manager Vida Starcevic the livestream will offer a deeper discussion around the “World” trailer and a look at how far the game has come since its debut at E3 2018, as well as present the community with an opportunity to ask questions about the game via chat.

Control will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for PC in 2019.
