'The Spy Who Shrunk Me' Gets Steam Early Access Date, VR In 2019

by Rainier on Dec. 6, 2018 @ 2:12 a.m. PST

The Spy Who Shrunk Me is a stealth game, the player gets to be super agent Audrey Smoothspy armed with a shrink ray and a host of exotic and unusual spy gadgets.

Staying hidden from guards and traversing many exciting locales, the hero unravels a terrifying secret in 1980s Moscow which threatens to turn the Cold War into a fiery one.

Sneak onto a train inbound to Moscow and infiltrate a software company that harbors grave secrets bound to turn the Cold War into a very hot one. Armed with banana peels, airbag mines and the capability to shrink enemies and drop them in toilets and paper shredders, you are the only one standing between the dreaded General Bolscotchkovich and his Soviet army.

The game features immersive first person stealth gameplay that blends scale-bending shrink ray mechanics, tongue-in-cheek humour and a hilarious 80s aesthetic. Go crazy by shrinking enemies and dropping them down toilets or use stealth and subterfuge to get past enemies undetected. The game can be completed without harming a single soul.

Catland will launch The Spy Who Shrunk Me for PC on Steam Early Access starting December 18, 2018, and will stay there until the VR edition is ready for prime time.

The PC game in Early access is playable from start to finish with many exciting missions where you get to save the world before the Cold War turns red hot! More gadgets will be added to the game while cooking up the VR edition.

"The Spy Who Shrunk Me is a fully voice acted narrative experience where you get to drive a miniature car, drop people down paper shredders and do other crazy stuff in the 80s Moscow!", comments Tomi Toikka, CEO of Catland. "Missions range from hacking servers, sabotaging equipment, extracting targets and taking out key personnel to saving the world itself from the Soviet menace! Fans of the old classic No One Lives Forever games can rejoice - this game is a huge love letter to the legendary spy game series."

Key Features:

  • Be agent AUDREY SMOOTHSPY, the only agent aloof enough to fight the Soviet army all by herself. Armed with a stolen Soviet shrink ray, an assorted inventory of spy gadgets and some banana peels, you're the only one affordable enough for the job of saving the free world!
  • Keep the cold war communist regime under your heels (literally) by (also literally) flushing their cronies down the toilet! Manipulate your enemies size using your trusty shrink ray. And when the going gets tough, zip past enemies as a tiny shrunk spy.
  • This mission takes you all the way to MOSCOW to find out what a sinister software company office complex is actually hiding within! Sneak aboard a train, defuse a nuke and kidnap a scientist into a purse! Don't get caught or risk getting stomped on!
  • Play your way! Challenge yourself by completing the adventure without killing anyone or without getting detected.

The Spy Who Shrunk Me in VR requires motion controllers and room-scale setup to play, supporting the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift with Touch controllers and Microsoft Mixed Reality headsets.
