'The Caligula Effect: Overdose' (ALL) Gets Release Date, Shows Off Dynamic Battle System - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 6, 2018 @ 12:28 p.m. PST

The Caligula Effect: Overdose is a JPRG in which players will follow the exploits of the Go-Home Club, a tight-knit group of Kishimai High School students who've discovered that their lives are nothing more than a virtual charade.

If you could enter a virtual world, devoid of misery and filled with comfort, would you take the chance? Be warned, however: things are not as idyllic as they seem in The Caligula Effect: Overdose

Some people would do anything to run away from life's problems. In The Caligula Effect: Overdose, the line between fact and fiction becomes blurred when people escape from the real world into a beautiful realm called Mobius.

Mobius. An idyllic world that exists for the sake of letting people forget about the pain and problems of reality. In this world created by a sentient vocaloid program, u (Mu), reality and fantasy has become blurred, allowing people to relive their high school years in bliss. Yet in this seemingly beautiful and perfect world, as you begin to remember fragments of memories from the real world, you realize something is wrong...

Escape from this false paradise with your fellow students and return to reality in The Caligula Effect: Overdose!

It takes more than one to escape this fabricated reality! Recruit your fellow students to execute unique combo attacks in The Caligula Effect: Overdose.

Select your moves, chain them in sequence, preview the results, and execute your assault! Play to your party's strengths to hit your enemies' weaknesses. Utilize different tactics depending on the situation, and revise your chain to perform a flawless finish! Or when all options are eliminated, blow them away with your Overdose Skill! But be careful: one bad move could spell disaster for you and your party!

How will you battle to escape Mobius? Will your efforts prove successful or lead to failure?

Key Features:

  • An Overdose of New Features – The Caligula Effect: Overdose boasts enhanced visuals and gameplay! Explore new scenarios, endings, and the “Forbidden Musician Route” while escaping the virtual world of Mobius.
