'Gwent: The Witcher Card Game' (ALL) Open Tournament This Weekend

by Rainier on March 16, 2018 @ 7:50 a.m. PDT

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a free-to-play card game that puts you, not your cards, in the center of the action.

In Gwent, gamers clash with their friends in fast-paced duels that combine bluffing, on-the-fly decision making and careful deck construction. The game is played over a best-of-three series of rounds, as players unleash their hand by slinging spells and diverse units with special abilities and use clever tricks to deceive their opponents.

CD Projekt RED invite gamers and esports enthusiasts to watch this weekend’s Gwent Open tournament.

The March Gwent Open will see the season’s highest ranked Pro Ladder players compete for Crown Points and a share of the $25,000 prize pool. Tournament finalists will advance to the April Gwent Challenger, set to take place deep underground in “Wieliczka” Salt Mine, Poland.

Live coverage from the tournament will be available on the official CD Projeckt RED Twitch channel.

The event will open with equarterfinals on Saturday, March 17, and continue with semifinals and final on Sunday, March 18. Streams for both days will start at 4 p.m. CET, with regular updates coming via Gwent Masters Twitter.

The full list of participants and casters for the tournament is available here.

Thanks to Twitch drops, viewers will be able to earn Card Kegs, participants’ favorite cards and other rewards by watching the tournament. More details at the official website.
