'The Elder Scrolls: Legends' (ALL) Houses of Morrowind Expansion Announced

by Rainier on March 16, 2018 @ 8:22 a.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a free-to-play strategy card game that takes place in the world of Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a strategy card game that explores the series’ characters, creatures, deities, and lore. Whether you have 10 minutes or five hours, Legends provides a variety of gameplay modes and challenges that are easy-to-learn but difficult to master. Built with all levels of players in mind, Legends offers accessible gameplay for beginners who want to get started quickly, and the game’s depth keeps expert players engaged. With a wide variety of deck types and strategies, no two games are ever the same. Best of all, jumping into the game doesn’t cost a thing. Download Legends - for free - and see for yourself.

Prepare to rediscover the province of Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls: Legends – Houses of Morrowind, the next major content expansion for the strategic card game and the largest content expansion since last year’s Heroes of Skyrim.

Journey into the strange and unfamiliar lands of Vvardenfell and collect more than 140 new cards that capture the essence of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and its Elder Scrolls: Online prequel. Pledge allegiance to the five Great Houses of Morrowind and their machinations; encounter otherworldly creatures; and come face to face with the living gods themselves and their nemesis, the mighty Dagoth Ur.

Introducing Three-Attribute Decks

Take up arms and battle beneath the banners of one of the five Houses of Morrowind to unlock powerful new three-attribute decks.

To create a three-attribute deck, simply add one of the many new three-attribute cards to a new or existing deck. Ever wanted to equip Tazkad with a Sentinel Battlemace? How about using Laaneth to fetch a timely Allena Benoch? In a three-attribute deck, you can. In exchange, all three-attribute decks must include at least 75 cards and players may not play with cards of any other attributes.

To account for the increase in deck size of three-attribute decks, Houses of Morrowind raises the maximum deck size to 100 for all decks, not just three-attribute ones.

New Abilities

Master a new set of keywords – one for each House – featuring powerful new abilities that represent the attributes and traits of each House.

  • RALLY | House Redoran [STR] [WIL] [END]: Whenever a Rally creature attacks, it gives a random creature in your hand +1/+1.
  • BETRAY | House Telvanni [INT] [AGI] [END]: After you play this action, you may sacrifice a creature to play it again. Players can only perform betray once per action.
  • PLOT | House Hlaalu [STR] [WIL] [AGI]: Plot abilities trigger if you’ve played another card that turn. All three of Hlaalu’s attributes – Strength, Willpower, and Agility – have lots of inexpensive cards that will help your plots come to fruition
  • EXALT | Tribunal Temple [INT] [WIL] [END] : Exalt offers a creature a bonus if you pay more magicka for it. Paying the exalt cost results in the creature becoming “Exalted” – an important distinction should the gods makes an appearance.
  • FIVE POWER MATTERS | House Dagoth [STR] [INT] [AGI]: House Dagoth doesn’t wield a traditional keyword. Instead, it seeks raw power. Dagoth cards, found in Strength, Intelligence, and Agility, reward you for having creatures with 5 or more power.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends – Houses of Morrowind releases March 28 on PC, mobile, and tablet devices.

Key Features:

  • Play Your Way: Legends features five attributes: Strength (Red), Intelligence (Blue), Willpower (Gold), Agility (Green), and Endurance (Purple) - each providing in-depth systems for players to champion. Discover your favorite play style with cards you unlock for free. Become more powerful as you master a variety of decks and strategies, and test your skill against both human and computer opponents.
  • Depth of Play: Legends’ gameplay features a divided battlefield — “lanes” that deepen your strategy options. Using two lanes requires you to plan when and where you place your cards, and how you’ll defend and attack. A lane can even have a special condition that affects cards played there providing further challenges and opportunities.
  • Choose Your Path: Select your avatar from the nine well-known races of Tamriel, and receive gameplay rewards complimenting that race’s play style and unique in-game strengths. As you adventure through the game, your character gains levels and your card collection grows. Make choices during the single-player campaign that will unlock new cards and upgrade some basic cards to new versions. Legends allows you to change your approach to fit your playstyle and the decks that you want to build and play.
  • Story Mode: In The Elder Scrolls: Legends Story Mode, you must escape from dark cultists and follow a path that leads all the way to an Emperor in exile. On your journey you’ll face a variety of opponents with different abilities and powers based on their card decks and strategies. Story mode provides hours of single-player gameplay where you’ll earn new cards you can use to make your decks more powerful and versatile.
  • Arena Mode: Once you’ve learned the basics, enter ‘Arena Mode’ to battle AI or human opponents in a series of matches. Build your deck from the ground up and face AI opponents which become more and more challenging. Or, play against friends or other players where you’ll both create a deck and battle until one side dominates. The more wins you earn, the better your rewards. Every time you play in this mode you’ll find a unique and challenging experience.
