'Prey' (ALL) Announcement Coming?

by Rainier on March 2, 2018 @ 4:13 p.m. PST

In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever, but the space station has been overrun by hostile aliens, and you are now being hunted.

Prey is a first-person sci-fi action game that re-imagines the franchise from the ground up ... with an added psychological twist.

In Prey, you find yourself aboard a space station, hunted by aliens, desperate to not only survive but also unravel the enigma of your own identity.

But it’s not just extraterrestrial threats that you’ll encounter.

You are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You'll have to rely on the tools you find on the station — along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities — to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive.

The space station Talos I is as much of a character as Morgan Yu, it’s an alternate future as imagined by Arkane – a timeline that (among other things) includes President Kennedy surviving his assassination attempt. In Prey’s version of the future, the U.S. has built an even stronger space program, with Talos I emerging as a space station unlike anything you’ve seen in movies or games.

Prey's twitter account sent out a small notice with an animated gif of a moon like surface (secret second shadow base?) and a Transtar sign, indicating there may be an announcement soon. Earlier today Bethesda sent out a "save the date" for their E3 showcase in June, so the publisher may be hinting at a possible DLC (it's most likely too soon for another sequel).

"Do we really know what’s out there?"
