From Light is a 2D puzzle platformer that shines new life into the genre with its unique photography-inspired mechanics. Long exposure allows you to draw your own platforms - creating paths to places that were previously out of reach.
The game's environment plays a vital role in solving each puzzle, so figuring out how it allows and restricts movement while light-painting platforms and discovering solutions is essential. Freeze Frame mode allows you to freeze objects in order to use them as platforms, phase through them, or even clone them.
4 years ago, the team at Faffinabout’s student project, a puzzle game about photography, was featured at the PAX 10. From that point they knew they wanted to do something more ambitious. Now graduated, they spent the last year on the conference circuit, most recently securing a nomination for the Game Awards first ever student game category.
The PC campaign for From Light launches today on Fig through April 26th offering both equity and rewards opportunities, with an overall goal of $50,000.
Backers can buy copies of the game, reward based items, and have the ability to invest and earn returns based on games’ sales.
