In Super Bomberman R, up to two players can work cooperatively in ‘Story’ mode to clear stages in order to save the galaxy. Guide a wide variety of Bomberman characters around maze-like areas using timed bombs to open walkways and take out opponents. Multiply the fun and play with up to eight players in ‘Battle’ mode, or jump into the competitive Grand Prix mode.

Designed specifically for future eSports initiatives, the new Grand Prix mode is a team versus mode that pits two teams of up to 3 players each to battle it out in different arena stages using new characters with special abilities.

The Grand Prix mode includes several matches:

• "Crystal" Match – two teams compete to earn points by collecting crystals. Watch out for bombs! If you’re blown away you lose half of your crystals. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins.
• “Basic Bomber” Match -- two teams compete against each other using standard Bomberman rules. Each team begins with a set number of lives. To win, take out your opponents to earn the most points before the time runs out.

Also, there is a new rule where the condition to clear the stage is not just by wiping out all the enemies. This simple but strategic game with new rules and 3D stages is fun for everyone, from children to adults.

As part of the arrival to new platforms, Konami also reveals special characters through collaborations with Sony, Microsoft and Valve.

All players who purchase Super Bomberman R will receive the following unique characters based on the following platforms:

• Ratchet & Clank Bomber (PS4)
• Master Chief Bomber (Xbox One)
• P-body Bomber (PC)

The original voice actor for Master Chief, Steve Downes, will helm the voice for the Xbox One exclusive character, Master Chief Bomber.

Additionally, Arnold Taylor and David Kaye will bring to life the beloved duo of Ratchet & Clank Bomber for the PS4 exclusive.

Also revealed today, Nintendo Switch fans will be excited to learn that Max will be arriving soon exclusively to the platform due to popular demand. Switch users will be able to play the mysterious masked warrior and ruthlessly fight enemies with his iconic electric bombs (more details will be shared at a later date).
