In Metal Reborn, Earth just as we know it has ceased to exist. While the planet hasn’t been destroyed, it is now on the verge of extinction, colonized by an ancient alien race known as the SARN, devastators of worlds. Players take the role of Demian, once a Navy pilot, now is the leader of The Coalition, a group of survivors seeking to restore peace and freedom to the Universe. 

Players will explore open, non-linear environments and engaged in more than 30 missions, meeting characters and facing extraterrestrial enemies across three different biomes and in-door facilities. Metal Reborn plays as a shooter, either in third person or first person perspective, and it features vehicular combat and a huge arsenal of more than 10 weapons, including melee and futuristic guns.

IO Game Studio is developing Metal Reborn in Unreal Engine using Motion Capture and photometry, techniques that are rarely used by independent studios. For Metal Reborn, developers are aiming to create a visually stunning sci-fi shooter with core gameplay mechanics of both classic and modern shooters alike.

IO Game Studio has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign looking to raise $15,000 for the last stage of development, , 50% of which will be distributed to fund environments and characters.

“The economic situation of our country makes it very difficult for small studios to keep up to date in technology, such as software for modelling and texturing, and hardware updates to work with that software. We already invest a lot in this project and need your help so we can finish it.” Says Damián Pomponio, lead director of the project. 

Backers can support Metal Reborn from USD $1 to a maximum of USD $4000. Future updates of the campaign will feature soundtrack previews and more insight into the developer process.
