'Guild Wars 2' Festival of the Four Winds Begins Next Week

by Rainier on July 18, 2018 @ 1:55 a.m. PDT

While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent world, it retains the unique characteristics of the original game, including a strong narrative, extensive instanced game play, an anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play.

Guild Wars 2 redefines massively multiplayer online roleplaying games with visceral, action-oriented combat; a gorgeous, living world full of constantly evolving dynamic events; customizable personal storylines that are unique to each player; intense Player vs. Player combat between small teams or massive armies; and most importantly, a shared online world where players work together as allies instead of as rivals — all with no monthly subscription fee.

For the first time in four years, Queen Jennah of Kryta and the Captain's Council of Lion's Arch cordially invite players to participate in the return of the beloved Festival of the Four Winds on July 24

The summer season is running hot in Tyria as the Guild Wars 2 universe gears up to breathe new excitement into this fan favorite in-game event by taking advantage of recent game additions, including mounts and story events:

  • High atop the Labyrinthine Cliffs, our Zephyrite friends have been working in tandem with Lion's Arch to host an incredible variety of fun vendors and events to entertain visitors from all across Tyria.
  • Revisit your favorite festival activities in the bazaar, and try your hand at new adventures, races, and scavenger hunts
  • The Crown Pavilion in Divinity’s Reach is open for business: combat-inclined festivalgoers can challenge recreations of humanity's greatest foes, legendary champions and notorious figures in the Boss Blitz and Queen’s Gauntlet

In addition, Festival Tokens and Favors of the Festival will be available throughout the events to trade for exciting prizes. Also, transportation to the festivities couldn't be easier! Special hot air balloons are now stationed in each nation's capital city. Visitors can also sail directly from the ship from Lion's Arch.
