Next 'DC Universe Online' (ALL) Content Update Will Add Aquaman's Atlantis

by Rainier on July 23, 2018 @ 12:23 p.m. PDT

Daybreak has built a world where you feel like you've stepped into the DC Universe and become the ultimate super-hero (or villain) along side of Superman, Batman, or Ambush Bug.

Lex Luthor has traveled back through time with news of a dire future: While the heroes and villains spent years battling amongst themselves, Brainiac has been feeding on their powers, building strength to return to Earth and destroy humanity. To change the future, Lex has come back to set off a device that bestows super powers to thousands of every-day citizens and give humanity a fighting chance. Can Brainiac be stopped, or is this another nefarious Lex Luthor plot?

As a traditional action-based MMO that combines fast-paced, twitch-based combat with an interactive physics system to deliver a new and unique gameplay experience, DC Universe Online brings the DC Universe to life, allowing players to create their own superheroes - or villains - and join forces with their favorite DC Comics characters to aid in saving – or destroying – the universe.

DCUO offers a dramatic online setting where players can enter the DC Universe and battle alongside or against their favorite DC Comics heroes and villains including such icons as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker, as well as many other fan favorites such as Green Lantern, The Flash, Catwoman and Martian Manhunter. The action and drama will play out in such well-known locations as Gotham City and Metropolis among others.

DC Universe Online was created in the artistic vision of legendary comic book artist Jim Lee, and set within a world created by famous DC writers including Geoff Johns and Marv Wolfman.

DC Universe Online's next major content release will bring players to Aquaman's undersea kingdom. The new episode, ATLANTIS, will launch this November.

In ATLANTIS, rebellion is festering deep beneath the sea. Aquaman reigns as king, but for how long? The tide is shifting, Corum Rath and his Deluge conspirators seek to seize the throne, and soon Atlantis itself will be thrown into chaos and war.

Players will journey to Atlantis to quell the rebellion, where the fate of the kingdom and perhaps of two worlds - land and sea - hang in the balance.

SJ'S TAKE: "ATLANTIS y'all. I know everyone - me included - has been wanting to visit Aquaman and Mera's home, and I'm so glad we get to finally take the plunge. The team is going all out on this one, just like we did with Teen Titans, and it's going to be a blast." - SJ Mueller, DC Universe Online Creative Director

JACK'S TAKE: “From the magic of Arion to the dystopian future of Flashpoint, Atlantis has always been at the center of DC Comics history. It is beyond exciting to be able to bring this world to life in DC Universe Online. I can't wait for everyone to see what we have built.” - Jack Emmert, Daybreak Head of Games
