'M, The City in the Center of the World' (PS4) Makes Public Debut At Gamescom

by Rainier on Aug. 1, 2018 @ 5:39 a.m. PDT

M, The City in the Center of the World is the second chapter of Nubla, a graphic adventure / puzzle-platformer that brings together the worlds of art, technology, and video games.

Exploring the works of the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza of Modern Art (Madrid, Spain) M, The City in the Center of the World is an interactive story about self-discovery, memory, and identity, and on how frontiers make us refugees in a world that is not totally ours.

Back in 2015, the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza of Modern Art (based in Madrid, Spain), Sony Computer Entertainment Spain, and the indie studio Gammera Nest shook hands and decided to cooperate in a unique project: Nubla, a video game that brings together the worlds of art and video games. Nubla had the goal of starting a dialog between the player and the works of art of the Museum. But it wasn’t just an edutainment or promotional app, but a full-fledged video game – a graphic adventure where you have to explore a world of imagination and fantasy, solving puzzles to break free some characters trapped in their paintings.

Now, the second chapter of Nubla is almost ready for its release. Titled M, The City in the Center of the World, this second chapter expands the gameplay of its predecessor, adding puzzle-platforming sections, as well as its themes and storytelling. Nubla was a self-discovery journey, a search for identity and a place in the world. In M, you will experience a story that talks about how frontiers, both temporal and spatial, make us all refugees in a world that is not totally ours – all while exploring the work of artists such as Joseph Turner, Max Ernst, David Friedrich, and Joseph Cornell.

M, the City in the Center of the World, will be available for hands-on demonstration in Gamescom 2018 within the Spanish Pavilion, in Hall 04.1 Stand E-010g/F-019g. Daniel Sánchez, CEO of Gammera Nest, will conduct the hands-on demos and will be available for interviews. If you want to discover the art of the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza and embark in a unique journey that brings together technology, art, and interactive storytelling, let us know and we’ll book you in!
