'39 Days to Mars' (ALL) Gets Xbox One Date

by Rainier on Jan. 9, 2019 @ 11:55 a.m. PST

39 Days to Mars is a two player co-operative adventure game set in an alternate reality some 150 years in the past.

You play as Sir Albert Wickes and The Right Honourable Clarence Baxter, two 19th century explorers who are piloting the HMS Fearful -- a masterpiece of unreliable engineering -- on its maiden voyage to Mars. Single-player adventuring and puzzle-solving can be had as well, with the ship's computer-controlled cat there to keep you company.

When the steam engine runs out of coal, the ship's aforementioned cat shreds the navigation chart, and the tea gets cold, it becomes clear that interstellar transportation isn't a walk in the park. It will take the talents of two working together on a mix of puzzles and action sequences to get to Mars in one piece (let alone in 39 days).

39 Days to Mars will be available for pre-order on Xbox One later this month.

The additional Victorian Adventures content update released earlier this year on PC will be included as part of the console edition at release as well.

Key Features:

  • LOCAL CO-OP: 39 Days to Mars is a two player co-operative game. The HMS Fearful is a masterpiece of unreliable engineering, therefore Albert and Baxter will need all the help they can get. Nothing can be done without the effort of both players, who have important roles to play in the adventure.
  • SINGLEPLAYER AI: If you don't want to play with your friends, the ship's computer-controlled cat will keep you company.
  • BITE-SIZED ADVENTURES: The mix of action and thoughtful puzzles make it perfect for playing in short sessions. The entire adventure fits comfortably into an evening.
  • ATMOSPHERIC: Be drawn into the world of Albert and Baxter by the unique illustrated artwork. 39 Days to Mars has a rich sound-scape and a beautiful piano score that is punctuated only by the occasional disaster.

Currently available on PC (Steam), 39 Days to Mars is coming to the Xbox One on February 6, 2019, with a Nintendo Switch edition to follow shortly after.
