Expect a new era of anime fighting games, featuring anime-amazing visuals, cutting-edge sound, and an all-new game system designed to appeal to fighting game veterans and novices alike.

Designed to appeal to fighting game novices and veterans alike, it marries the characters, artwork, and story from one of Japan’s most fervently loved RPGs with a classic beat ‘em up design courtesy of one of the world’s greatest fighting game developers. With characters from the original Granblue Fantasy series, such as Gran, Katalina, and Lancelot, the game will be a must-have for existing fans, while providing a new way for western gamers to experience the series for the first time.

Each character will boast a full suite of special moves based on their abilities from the original game and while Versus will maintain the beautiful visual design of the original series, it will also introduce a host of new features that will usher in a new era for fighting games.

In Granblue Fantasy: Versus, power, skill, and spirit collide in a quest to find the true champion of the ring. Players can take on AI opponents or fight against human opponents in local or online two-player matches. Five characters will be available in the playable demo, starting with Gran, the protagonist of Granblue Fantasy, who travels the skies with his winged companion Vyrn and a mysterious girl, Lyria, who saved his life. Other characters include Katalina, an ex-imperial knight sworn to protect those she holds dear; Charlotta, the virtuous captain of the Lumiel Order of Holy Knights; Lancelot, a dual-wielding master swordsman; Ferry, a ghost with a whip and spectral pets; and Percival, the ‘Lord of Flames’ who wields a blazing longsword.

The retail Premium Edition will include a physical copy of Granblue Fantasy: Versus, a key to redeem Gold Brick (1), Sunlight Stone (1), Sephira Evolite (1) and Damascus Crystal (10) within the original Granblue Fantasy game, soundtrack CD, art book, a code to redeem a PS4 theme and avatar set as well as the Color Pack DLC to customize characters’ colors, all housed in a premium box with exclusive art for an MSRP of $79.99. 

The digital Granblue Fantasy: Versus “Character Pass Set” will include the game code, key to redeem goods in the original Granblue Fantasy game, PS4 theme and avatar set, the character Color Pack DLC, and the Character Pass DLC for five to-be-announced characters, plus the Lobby Avatar “Nice-Abs Power Vyrn.” The Character Pass Set will be available exclusively on the PlayStation®Store for $79.99 at launch.

The digital Granblue Fantasy: Versus “Digital Deluxe” edition includes all contents of the “Character Pass Set,” plus digital soundtrack, digital art book, and the same exclusive art that is featured on the Premium Edition box as a PS4 theme. The Digital Deluxe edition will be available exclusively on the PlayStation Store for $99.99 at launch.

The Granblue Fantasy: Versus physical and digital standard edition, which will also include the digital goods for the original Granblue Fantasy game, is priced at an MSRP of $59.99. The Granblue Fantasy mobile game code will include each of the following: Gold Brick, Sunlight Stone, Sephira Evolite, and 10 Damascus Crystals.

XSEED Games confirmed that all versions, including the physical and digital standard editions, will come with a download code granting items for the original Granblue Fantasy game on mobile and web browsers.

Pre-orders for both physical versions of Granblue Fantasy: Versus will open shortly at the XSEED Games Store and participating retailers.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is coming to PS4 in 2020.
