'GRID' (ALL) Season One Begins Next Week, Adds New Hatchbacks and Events - Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 25, 2019 @ 12:34 p.m. PST

GRID delivers intense wheel to wheel racing action, spanning four continents in some of the world's most famous city streets and race circuits.

Choose cars from GT, Touring, Stock, Muscle, Super-Modified and more, across race types including Circuit, Street Racing, Ovals, Hot Laps, Point-to-Point and World Time Attack.

GRID strikes the perfect balance, offering risk and reward for every type of racer. Handling is incredibly responsive with a learning curve that appeals to both casual arcade gamers through to the core simulation racers. Progression is rewarded through liveries, player cards, team mates, achievements and driving accolades. AI drivers push the player to their limits to earn a place on the podium and ultimate victory in the GRID World Series Championship. Realistic damage can affect both the car’s performance and handling and too much contact with the same racer will see them emerge as a nemesis who will stop at nothing to get their revenge in the race.

Established as one of the best modern-day drivers across F1, Endurance and Stock Racing, Fernando Alonso has signed as a Race Consultant and appears in-game. Players enter a series of events against some of Alonso’s Esports driving team ‘FA Racing’, across multiple classes of racing before coming face to face with the former World Champion in his infamous Renault R26 F1 car, in a final showdown event.

Season One adds even more variety and unpredictability with the arrival of the Hot Hatch Showdown. Players have access to fan-favorite location, Paris, four new cars and over 30 career events.

The Hot Hatch Showdown sees four legendary hatchbacks added to GRID’s roster. Ultimate Edition players can get behind the wheel of the MINI Hatch JCW, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Super Hatch, Renault Clio S1600, and the AUDI S1 quattro Concept. Playable in career, free play and multiplayer, the new Hot Hatches can be used in any race scenario. For GRID players without Ultimate Edition, the Renault S1600 is available in free play and multiplayer events as a loan car.

GRID’s globe-trotting career mode now has even more challenges to overcome, with Season One adding another 33 Career events to conquer. Available to Ultimate Edition players, head to the career menu and switch to the new tab to find two brand new career threads, one featuring the new Season One cars, the other using the existing car roster.

Codemasters is also adding to GRID’s list of circuits with the return of a series favorite, available for free to all players. Race around the Arc de Triomphe, underneath the Eiffel Tower and through the streets of Paris. With three different routes, each with a reverse option, Paris is a tight and complex circuit full of undulation and overtaking opportunities. Race in daytime, at night, in the rain, dusk or dawn – all options are open to create a dream race event in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

GRID Season One will be available starting Wednesday, December 4, 2019 and will be available for all players who own the Ultimate Edition. Standard or Day One owners can purchase the Season One content separately via their digital store of choice.

GRID is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
