'Conglomerate 451' Early Access Update Adds New Loot, Equipment, And More

by Rainier on Dec. 18, 2019 @ 12:01 a.m. PST

Conglomerate 451 is an evolution of the classic, first-person dungeon crawler genre, datamoshed together with a cyberpunk twist.

Embracing its grid-based, dungeon crawling RPG roots, Conglomerate 451 offers players an evolution of one of gaming’s most beloved genres.

Tasked with taking down the corrupt corporations that threaten sector 451 of Conglomerate city, establish and manage a crack team of cloned agents, altering their DNA and outfitting them with the latest in high-end cyberlimbs, implants and weaponry to best carve out an edge in this city-wide struggle.

Each encounter carries additional weight, however. Roguelike elements ensure that not only could each mission be an agent’s last, but that even the most inconsequential wound can evolve into a permanent status modifier, changing the way they approach future encounters. This means players will have to leverage everything from hacking and equippable agent skills, to strategic use of their personal R&D department to make it out alive.

1C Entertainment and Conglomerate 451 developer RuneHeads release the largest Early Access update to their grid-based, cyberpunk dungeon crawler yet.

During the past two months, RuneHeads have been working hard on improving the game by adding a series of key features and gameplay changes, such as the much-anticipated story mode, expanded loot system, new areas and characters, new intro, and much more.

What’s new in today’s update:

  • Special Loot Crates: Introducing different rarities to Loot Crates with better rewards, depending on mission difficulty
  • REM (REsources Module) System: After defeating an enemy there is a chance it will drop a REM, a collection of resources and items
  • Cypher Deck: Now every Agent has a Cypher Deck, a special combat computer. Improve a Cypher Deck by upgrading it and installing new plugins
  • Plugins: A new item type that can be installed in Cypher Decks to modify an Agent’s Combat Hacking skills
  • Further balancing of the game
